I like that as diverse as all the rankings have been, no one can really say a bad thing about High School is Killing Me or Hatchet Town. They're just so well made, even if they aren't your personal favorites. Also my personal favorite songs are almost all at the bottom of your list, which is really funny.

And the song is just so damn sexy Also I feel like people underestimate just for once, the more I listen to it... the better it gets. Its like ruth gets her moment to shine as she sings an excerpt on the play she is managing.

I love how diverse the rankings of the songs are, I think that just shows how good the music in this is and it's really just up to personal preferences. Like 3 songs from my top 5 are in the lowest 5 in your ranking for example but I was SO happy to see Go Go Nighthawks ranked high. This song brings me so much joy.

Interesting. Hatchet Town IS the business. No argument there. Also, you respect Just For Once, this Hatchetfield show's "Divergence From Tone" number, and the heart of the show. But The Summoning at 11 is bananas. It was the first song from this show that got stuck in my head and the late-90s Industrial vibes are IMPECCABLE.

there are some absolutely scalding takes in this, but i totally get behind the placement of just for once and hatchet town. i love just for once because even though its an alright song (especially compared to the other songs in npmd), the ending of ruth just dejectedly going "i used to dance..." is utterly heartwrenching and really gets you with the tragedy of her imminent death

* Personal ranking (least to most favourite): * 15. Dirty Dudes Must Die - This literally feels like it's just here for the purpose of "oh it's Hatchetfield, we can't have a happy ending" * 14. Go Go Nighthawks! - This is just kind of boring honestly, it's nice and upbeat but doesn't really do anything for me * 13. Dirty Girl - There's a reason I've not watched Me And My Dick and this song is influencing that, I do love Angela's harmonies in this song though * 12. Just For Once - You exist. That's cool. I'm glad Lauren gets to explore her range here though!! * 11. Cool As I Think I Am - Not super fond of Joey solos but it does remind me of early Starkid in the Starship kind of era where Joey had so many "I Want" songs * 10. Nerdy Prudes Must Die - I'm gonna be honest I kind of forget this song exists but then when I do remember about it I love it so I'm never sure where to rank this * 9. The Summoning - I'M SORRY IT'S SO LOW, this song is just a little too chaotic for me but also the way they sing "T'nooyyyy Keraxissss" scratches an itch for me, not much else to say about this song though * 8. Hatchet Town - Reminds me of older Starkid with Act 2 opening with a group number, we stan the cameos but otherwise I'm not super fond of this song, Bryce's interlude, as angelic as her singing is, kind of just kills the mood of it for me * 7. Bury The Bully - Hi so just in advance, I'm a sucker for Mariah's vocals and like, this song isn't amazing but her "It's gonna NEVER HAUNT ME!" and her acting in this song is setting off the lesbian alarm bells in my head and it may have moved higher than it should have cause of that * 6. The Best Of You - WEEOO WEEOO LESBIAN BELLS ARE RINGING, I once again am in love with Mariah and I wish this was the final song, her voice really compliments Joey and hfdjshgkjhfg they're so cute together * 5. Cool As I Think I Am (Reprise) - I'm not one for crying at media but I had literally just a lake around me as this song finished, Joey is SO GOOD at making me depressed, also once again we have the appearance of Mariah vocals I love her * 4. Literal Monster - Not as much of a fan of the first half of the song, but Will's second section of it immediately pulled this so far up the ranks, you can watch as it'll riIIIIiiIIIiiIIISEEE * 3.
