I started working with clay again at 57 because of Jackie. My daily life is filled with medication and pain. Crafting or being an artist or a mud slinger, no matter what you do to distract your mind from the pain is invaluable. Now I have miniatures of nature, history, abstract and fine art. I have a two foot dragon, and a huge amount of replica beads from history. Every day I learn more and it is always nice to think about how I just happened on this channel. I had tried poly clay back in the 70's and decided I couldn't sculpt. Jackie opened a HUGE door in my life by teaching with such a kind heart but not much gimmick. Once I realized it is just shapes but together to make new shapes, I took off into a fun world of clay.

I made a little sam ( Jacksepticeyes little eyeball.) today using air dry clay for my phone case. Katlinel Matheson I’ve dipped my fingers in a tiny amount of cornstarch and used that to buff (in tiny circles) sculpey, before baking. It helped smooth out the fingerprints too. Just take a tiny spoonful out of the box before getting near the sculpey, so it isn’t contaminated for food use. ORRRR, do like I do, which is using the cornstarch that expired over a year ago and *probably* should NOT be eaten.

*PLEASE PLEASE DO MORE TUTORIALS,* I have chronic back pain, I have morphine tablets for the pain, I stated using polymer clay a year or so ago and i can't believe how much it helps me deal with the pain, it takes my mind off the pain, but if i do work on something for hours and hours it increases the pain as I'm leaning over the table concentrating on what ever I'm making, you are the one that made me want to try clay out, so thank you so much, I also have complex PTSD, so i have bad nights and rough days, but when I'm making things with the clay it helps keep my mind busy so i don't think of the bad stuff, so seriously, thank you
