When removing a face you need ACETONE, you can use nailpolish remover but be sure it's at least got acetone in it. 100% acetone is ideal but can melt the plastic if you aren't careful

Like others have mentioned, you can use 100% acetone to remove the paint on the dolls. You can also use the boil-washing method to tame the doll hair. Just a few tips in case you decide to continue doing custom dolls, which I would love to see. If you decide to do more custom MLPs, may I suggest recreating the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse as ponies... you can show the dark side of cute with that theme. :)

Boil washes can be really hard with mlp dolls (Idk if their heads still detach but the earlier gens were hard to get water out of if you got it in there). Hair dryers can also give enough heat depending on the type of hair, you just need to keep it in the position you want

IroSquared Boku it depends on the type of plastic, most doll customizers work with the same brand so they’re familiar and know wether or not acetone works. When using a new brand of dolls (and a new type of plastic) they’ll usually do a small acetone test on the back of the dolls head.

My dear Jackie, three small pieces of advise from someone whose watched way too many Dollightful videos: First off, make sure as others have commented to use acetone nail polish remover. Pure acetone may be too strong as it could melt the plastic so dilution may be needed (side note: if you need to remove sharpie from anything use acetone it will work!). Secondly, she usually pours boiling water over the hair to get all of it to go down, and ises a chop stick just to style. I would suggest using a metal clay tool instead of a knife as it will give you more control. Lastly, she always wears gloves when sculpting with apoxy sculpt as it is not he best stuff to get on your hands. Anyway great first attempt.

you can use nail polish remover like you already did, but I think it doesn't really come off because I think the head is a hard plastic, some hard plastics tend to "melt" when you put acetone on it, and the reason is why this isn't happening to for example barbie dolls is that they have a Vinyl head and vinyl doesn't react the same as the hard plastic does I hope I helped and if there are any other questions or if you didn't understand me, you can ask me. also if I made any mistakes please correct me :3

Hey Jackie! These are so cute and really well done! If I may give some advice that hopefully doesn't sound bad and helps- As a lot of ppl have probably pointed out- the main chemical that removes the factory paint is called Acetone. (You can get pure bottles of it, or find it in nail polish remover- just check the ingredients listed in the remover). Edit: forgot to mention- remember to wipe the places down with water on the spots you put acetone or it could end up melting the plastic!!! Also! There are a range of different hair types that are used! (Types being what the hair is made of) I THINK my little pony and a range of other dolls come with nylon hair, which is one of the hair types that can't stand direct heat very well. (In dollightfull's doll basics/supplies video she goes over the different types, so I do suggest checking that one out) and hopefully last- I've seen a raven of people lay a sheet or two of plastic wrap on the dolls head before adding Apoxie, as to avoid getting it in on the hair or other part of the doll. Info dump over? Yes. (Bwt- I wish you luck on your customizing journey!)

I recommend the anime "Durarara!!" It's name means "The Roaring Of An Engine" and the main character Celty has no head, well not attatched anyway. And she rides a motorcycle! I watched this a few years ago and it was one of the first animes i have watched, and another one that got me into anime ^^
