Same. I still think she's playing the long game. She had a whole contingency plan just in case HL is feeling petty and emotional. Wouldn't be surprised if she ends up swopping in with a cure after Billy does what Billy does just to manipulate the narrative and come out on top. That way Sage is the hero and people will actually listen to her. She wants validation clearly, but there's something else there too. Sage isn't evil, but she's definitely morally gray. I also still think she's setting Ryan to be on top. She's the only one that picked up on his hesitation when the Homeboy idea was pitched to him. Can't wait to see what phase 2 is.

Sage is like Homelander. I thought it was interesting to hear the twisted music we heard at the end of season 3 when Homelander unalived someone in public and the same theme played when Sage said she wanted to do everything because she wanted to see what happened. Singer dying or not was optional. The mistake I think is believing Sage's plan revolved around just one set of actions/outcomes. That'd be bad planning along the lines of "putting all your eggs in one basket". No plan survives contact with the enemy so I suspect she was playing multiple angles, if one part fails then she just pivots to another and the eventual outcome is the same. It didn't really matter what path got Homlander to power what mattered is he gets there.

About the Frenchie & Kimiko relationship... Earlier this season I literally told a friend how much I appreciated that this was a platonic male-female friendship that went from Frenchie being attracted to her, putting in the effort, and moving on + still be good supportive friends. Because she expressed not being interested. I was face-palming after realising that I read it wrong... I just didn't really see the romantic love from her side. I guess I was just hoping for something deeper than "guy worked hard for his love interest and the universe reward him with reciprocated love after all". Do people just not put in much effort for platonic relationships...? I'm aroace so it's slightly dissapointing, admittedly on a personal level, that the read was it had to be a romantic conclusion because he put in effort. I might be too biased to judge this... What I think about Sage, she is defiantly flawed and in her mind she thinks everything going the way that was all apart of her plan because it's working. It's also a way to control Homelander, if she showed up there like "Oh wow, you did all of this without me?" That wouldn't be too smart for the smartest person in the world. Knowing in that moment of Homelanders weakness she can gain control, Sage is the type of person to control people through their emotions. It isn't about being honest.

The plan was fine. The President had to go, either murdered by the assassin or trapped by his plan to kill Neuman; it didn't matter which. Neuman was compromised, so her living would also work. Without Neuman, they had the Speaker as back-up. For the "find my phone", I think it would show the last known location before Hughie entered the bunker, getting Starlight really close & able to zero in right after he left the bunker.

That was my take on it, she plotted the various paths things could take and worked at blocking/directing them so whichever way things went it would end up at her final goal. It didn't matter which path it took, which is why she is a super genius. Neuman could have been disposed of later if she was hard to manage and the murder of the president pinned on her.

If I'm being entirely honest, judging solely from the nature of each characters' powers and the visuals involved... I've long considered Cindy to be the likely #2 most powerful supe (in terms of offensive combat) after Homelander, and in fact on her initial introduction in Season 2 thought *she* was going to be set up as the threat to Homelander (before she was simply never seen again). Never have I, on the other hand, thought that Starlight could take Homelander head-to-head. The biggest issue with taking on a trained telekinetic, in terms of actual combat, is that they can quite literally hold you in place. They can vice-grip your arms and legs and prevent you from being able to move as they tear you apart. And the targeted control she showed when ripping those four doors open simultaneously shows that not only is she extremely powerful, but her skill/ability *is* either trained, or at least innate to the point where she has that degree of fine control over it. As a rough comparison, I would imagine here Dane Dehaan's character Andrew from the movie Chronicle, as an approximate gauge of what I would consider Cindy to likely be capable of.
