I got the regular Alaska and I think that it is a good ship. But I don't think it's OP'ed. Is the B version better or different? Didn't think so.

Aside from the black permacamo and the name, the B version is exactly the same as the regular version. Alaska is probably the strongest cruiser in T9, so yes it is indeed a good ship.

@@LightMusicBand Riga I think is the only counter. At sub 10km you can nuke the Alaska's turrets pretty easy. Plus you have the exact same consumable setup, if a worse radar.

@@orangedream267 according to my experience, Alaska could citadel a Riga if the latter shows even a tiny whiff of her broadside. The autobounce angles on USN AP shells are just insanely good.

It's all about your positioning. Although, I believe the Riga actually shares those improved angles. I may be wrong, but the new russian CAs are straight bullshit. Looks like yeah, better autobounce, but not quite American Piercing levels (60 for Alaska, 50 for Riga, 40 being default iirc).

@@orangedream267 Riga AP is very nasty and it can indeed knock out your turrets. That's why I choose to not engage them bow-in, and instead I try flanking them, like what I did practically in the entire video.
