It’d be more complex, but there’s a muscle sensor called ‘myoware’, or something like that, if I remember correctly. You’d need an arduino and relay/fet to get it to work, which adds complexity, but you could fire it by flexing your arm muscles and wouldn’t need anything in your hands. You’d have a single trigger (like a modddd rapidstrike, which I’m absolutely sure you know how to do since you have a video on it) but it’d be a cool idea for something that definitely was not designed to be the trigger for a nerf mech suit. Btw, I love the cheeseball rival round holders. That kind of repurposing old stuff engineering is the best part of this hobby, imo.

So....silly Idea. Proton-Jupiters as intended. But rather then set them up with the intent of "flamethrowers" or just simply bottomless uzies. Why not set them up with the intent of allowing modular intent like you wanted. Pulling them off and handing somone with like a larp riot build with an actual bayonet on the end of the blaster. Walcom interviewed a man who made the "jankblade" and realisticly you could go a similar route and handmake the blade. Little more work but It would be reliable and much more usable with a system such as that. Also I would reccomend making the firing system in the next steps built into gloves, allowing much morr complex wires. Like having the fire buttion on your middle pointer nuckle and just keep Something similar for the rev switch. Just random thoughts of a nervfing lion. - Axel

Well, after a quick search of Wikipedia for fire deities, there's actually two Jötunn in Norse mythology that could work as names. The best part? They're married. Glöð and Logi. Lookin pretty crazy. The stuff you make never ceases to amaze me. A quick note on different coloured rival rounds, you could put the different colours in in bands, so that you have a general idea of how much ammo you have left.. so you start with yellow, go to orange, then down to red when you're running out. Also, you should revisit the shoulder mounted blaster idea, but with what you know of building insane ROF blasters.

I play paintball as well as a nerf enthusiast. A suggestion to streamline the feeder tube a bit and run a thinner more flexible tube would be to use a modified halo style hopper. They have 2 different kinds but both can run .68 caliber paintballs at a very high speed. They keep up to my tipman with response trigger very well. I am not sure what caliber the rival round are but with something actually push feeding the rounds could increase fire rate as well. Otherwise very cool build. I would do something similar for the LARP I used to play except make it a wrist movement that engages the fly wheels... wrist moved forward or back depending what side the blaster is on completes the circuit at the joint. Not sure how I would do the firing mechanism short of metal connector plates in the thumb and a flexible contact strip on the side of the index finger where you need to contact the two to fire. I would be a minimalist as well since one of my favorite blasters is the wrist blitzer.

This is unrelated to this specific video but you should make a guide on how to to make a scar barrel all it takes to make is a pvc/brass barrel that fits over your existing barrel and the right thickness of fishing line. This would help many people who don't want to spend money on scar barrels but still want the increased accuracy they provide. It would also be helpful for people who have a barrel size that scars aren't commonly made in for some reason. Not very youtubers have made a guide on this and I am sure many people are unaware you can even build a scar. Keep up the great videos.

I have a thought of a way to reinforce the connection point on the top and bottom tanks. You could design and 3d print an inner and outer ring maybe an inch to 2 inches in width with a beveled edges on the inner ring (to reduce rounds hanging up on it) and then you could sandwich the tanks between the two rings and screw and glue them together for both strength and seal integrity.

Bonus points if the trigger assembly can still be easily accessed by holding it with your other hand.

Something I've always wanted to see done is a kind of Nerf artillery, meant to fire a volley at a steep angle and rain down a cloud of darts on a horde of zombies. Something like a bank of six XBZ tanks, each one with a six shot absolver and connected to a single trigger. I think it could only reasonably be done with HPA, or else you'd spend the whole game pumping, but that could make a great horde-assault option in something the size of a doomlands judge. And the absolvers could be swapped for demolisher rocket posts to take out special zombies.
@jaydenrhodes82046 жыл бұрын

Instead of going for extended high-rate courses of fire, go for instantaneous throw weight and area of effect. Some ideas: A machine-gun built with custom super-heavy flywheels and a feed mechanism that queues up twenty-five rival rounds in a tube and then uses a long push-rod to flush the entire tube through the flywheels in a quarter-second burst at 6k rpm. Backpack-mounted shotgun mortar flushing multiple cubic feet of compressed air to carpet a twenty-meter radius with balls. A shotgun built around a captive sabot that's filled from a backpack-mounted hopper like the proton packs. An over-the-shoulder machine-gun build that automatically precesses to sprinkle the area ahead of you with balls. An array of backpack-fed machine guns mounted around the handle of an umbrella and feeding through it so you can hunker down, point the assembly up at the sky, and sprinkle the entire battlefield around you. A propeller beanie of indiscriminate nerfing that feeds rival rounds into a horizontally-mounted spinning impeller to fling them in random directions all around you (c.f. Gungeon's Crown of Guns). A muzzle device that applies a variable but generally huge amount of hop-up at a different random angle on every round so the gun spews balls in a thirty-degree cone around the direction you point it.

You know the back of a salt-gritter truck? That chucks salt down on the roads in winter? Add a device below the air pumps that chucks some balls out behind you in a spread, so if you get surprised you can hit another button and divert the flow of balls/air backwards to cover yourself. Drum with a ball-tube that exits at an angle, housed in a cylinder that stops it from releasing balls towards your butt, the angle of the balls exiting serving to spin the drum.

I have no clue if this would work or not... but the Chaos has 4 tubes for loading... so could you make a quad proton pack 4 tube chaos? Is that possible? It would be neat if the back had a place you could shoot to deactivate the ball feed for a set amount of time and/or change a set of team-color LEDs to add some depth to this in game. Maybe the cap part of the original Zeus battery tray could be used in some way to cover up the ends? (Then again, it also looks like that's where some form of sling is mounted so that would have to either get mounted on the cap or the cap would have to have a slot cut in it for the existing slot mount) Also, can I say that I actually kinda prefer the Zeus to the Hera in stock form from an ergonomic level? They both feel like they're meant to be a bullpup style rifle for Rival, but the Zeus actually feels like it has a reason to be bullpup style, even if it is just because the magwell sticks out the back of the blaster and they theoretically could have just made it a Rival Stryfe if the thing didn't take C Batteries and use a similar mag retention mechanism to the Apollo. Ah, well, can't have everything. (Well, that and it would probably burn through 6 stock AAs in no time.) Plus, IDK exactly what it is, but the Zeus just feels more comfortable to shoulder, like everything's exactly the right length. Oh, right. And modding potential. The Zeus still retains ergonomics after modding and the stuff that can be done to it kinda makes you wonder if the designers spend any of their free time either modding or looking at mods due to just how many different ways it seems there are to mod the Zeus Vs. modding the Hera. Also, I find it funny that the blaster that nerf intended to replace the Zeus was named after Zeus's Wife. And Sister. (Dear gods, Greek mythology is messed up... To paraphrase something I read on Tumblr, "if you try to make a family tree for Greek mythology, everything just winds up back at Zeus."

you should add an xt60 to the leads going to the grip trigger stick things and then make some blaster that can be plugged into that connector and then, while still keeping the primary function of said blaster, you can add two switches somewhere on the blaster so you can have some kind of unity power flamethrower system. if i were you i would make that blaster some sort of rocket launcher. although it might be hard to pump fill them with air. who knows. just a thought.

Did you miss the part about wanting to keep it simple? ;) And the issue with TX-60 connections is they have not locking nub so they tend to pull out in setup like that.

understandable

Perhaps integrate the controls with some modularity so you can for instance have swords with the controls in the handles? I think I said that weird but I hope its understood

...that idea has some potential. Not fir this build...but maybe the next one...

Yes!! I knew it! I immediately thought of the flamethrower guys from captain America as well. I think you should make some sort of back mounted rocket salvo launcher thing. Some sort of hpa monstrosity that is housed in a backpack and fires a cloud of Demolisher rockets. I’m thinking Jango Fett rocket launcher but bigger, better, and more rockets. Maybe also make be able to be set up on the ground and be used as a mortar. You could also make it more modular and have it fire absolver attachments. If you really wanted to be fancy, you could make be able to be fired individually in succession or all at once.

I realize this is old but couldn't you put the Rev and fire switches onto a blaster, like for your off hand or for your ring and middle finger to operate and then just have a plug to connect it to the blasters? That way you could use the blaster without it or hook it up very simply and have them as backups. Which means you could wire two blasters up with the Rev and fire and plug and essentially dual wield a dual wield... Quad Wield anyone?

Yes, you could.

When you said "fiddly wiring", all I could think of, was some little English boy in the late 1800s, named Fiddly Wiring.

A really interesting idea, but if you wanted to have a load out that could last absolutely ages, would it be possible to somehow make some sort of proton pack Hades or Artemis? Or maybe even take an Apollo and modify it with a better stock and a forecrip prime? Maybe not possible, but just a thought.

Absolutely beautiful! This makes me smile. I hope both you and Luke from out of darts never stop what you're doing. =0)

I love the idea, and your execution of it. But I’m still wondering how the agitators work. That was like, the main thing I wanted to see in this video. (And of course more of that crazy fast firing footage)
@CaptainXavier6 жыл бұрын
I intentionally did not show more of the agitator. The design is not mine to show.

I kinda want to see an Atlas or an Artemis hooked up to the pack. I know they're not flywheel powered, but I think it would be pretty funny, and running around with basically unlimited ammo couldn't be bad.

I want one of these but shoulder mount. So happy I still have a stock Zeus
