Steel pots do not stop bullets. The historical accuracy here is really wanting. Those were mostly flak helmets. It is a little known fact that the rubber jacketed foam projectiles used in WW2 would in fact penetrate those kinds of helmets. In that era the medic would have applied sulfa powder to the wound as well. Infection was a common killer and that many sucker wounds would very likely lead to infection. Muppet fever, rockin' pnuemonia, and the boogy whoogy flu were all very common in that era. An experienced medic would have applied sulfa for sure. I really appreciate the production value and understand that I am being something of a stickler for historical accuracy.
