Nerf Fortnite Sniper Rifle Mod Guide

Today on American Foam I disassemble the BASR-L FORTNITE sniper rifle and mod it to perform just as good as it looks.
Mods include:
Spring upgrade
Lock removal
AR removal
Detachable stock mod
Mag compatibility mod

this blaster is pretty cool. it's kind of a tri strike reskin but with the extra fortnite deco. I'm glad it has some decent mod potential with a direct plunger

Just a heads up, there is a new version of the blaster that has different priming handles, they have thin tabs instead of a full big tab. Anyways this new updated design can take the magazines with bumps in them without having to mod it. I just got mines today and was wondering why it was different and when I put in an 18 round mag it fit inside and there was a grove on the blaster already which was an awesome update. Sorta like how they fixed the recon mk 2 after a while.

Brilliant video! Awesome work very detailed and since almost no video and much info about modding the basr-l online. It helps a lot. If possible, can you do an advanced modding about bolt sled or bass breech in the future? I was pretty new to modding and am not sure which other model modification fit the basr well. Not much can be found to mod basr from worker and other sites :(

Since it is mostly a retaliator internally, I would put in a long brass barrel and some steel internals and a more tougher spring

How do you take the stock off after installing it? My sons nerf has something wrong on the inside and a I can strip it down due to the stock?

We have a new version of this. New colors. Form Target. Stopped firing after a day. All of the springs and firing mechanics work. But there’s a small plastic stopper near the front of the chamber that was on a pin swinging area that fell out. I found the little clamp looking spring but can’t figure out how to reinstall it properly. A sit only allows one shot to fire successfully but then afterwards they all get jammed. It’s where the firing pin chambers the dart at the front just before the barrel. Any thoughts? I’ve got a phot but can’t post it.

I found using a 1/2 drill bit fit perfectly in the front of the AR a few turn by hand and the internals just fell out.

I personally would not cut the blaster because the 25 drum works very well. Especially since it doesn't last as long down at as the 18 magazine. Ein hoch auf den Google Translator :-)

I just used my infinus 30 drum instead. I dont really need to mod it since the basr-l is already really good, but with 30 darts it's kinda unfair for people like me who enjoy slam-fire.

think i'd chop off most of the barrel myself (i'd leave just a bit so it stays orange-tipped) but a parrel that long tends to cause drag on the ammo

If you take out the barrel there’s a smaller tube inside, pull out the smaller tube. Then chop off the base of the thicker barrel and use the base as an anchor for the thinner barrel

Unlikely. I’m not exactly sure, but the internals are typically different from blaster to blaster. Not saying no, but you may end up needing to do more shell work than it may be worth. The Nerf subreddit is a good source of info if you haven’t checked there yet too.

I think I'll keep the air restrictor, cuz for me sacrificing that few FPS for,a longer use life is a good trade off. (PS:) So i changed the original spring to a 8 kg retaliator spring, but i didn't change the catch spring, will there be alot of issues?

You can open the whole blaster up to make it accept 18 round mags... Or... You can just sand off the little orange bump on the mag.

How would I take the priming handle/tabs out? I don’t really care if the tab breaks or not cause I’m modding the gun to an awp- paint and all, thus only having the handle on one side, but I’m worried I’m gonna break another part in the process. Thanks! Edit: Finally got it out after 2 days of messing with it. Found a way to wedge a screwdriver into the hole that it sits in and then wrenched it out.

With a flathead screwdriver. They’re not meant to come out so you’ll have to pry them out very gently and wiggle them until they loosen enough to be removed. Take your time.

You have to mod the retention clips before putting it on in the first place. I don’t remember if I referenced that hint eh video since it’s so old but the only other way to get it off is to open the whole blaster.

What spring (kilogram wise) would you recommend for this blaster

I used a 5kg that I thrifted and that got me about 90fps on average. Anymore and you’ll also need to upgrade the catch spring too. My 7.5kg spring wouldn’t catch but I didn’t have a suitable catch spring either so I just went with the 5kg for the time being. You’ll also need to pad the plunger head with some sort of thin foam to prevent cracking.

It’s possible. Especially as time goes on. If you pull out the plunger rod, and hot glue a circular piece foam on the front end that hits the inside of the plunger tube than that should keep it safe. Only need a bit of foam and some hot glue. Would be pretty easy to get done.

Not sure. Bolt prime nerf blasters can’t take too much of an upgrade. Maybe 7.5kg? You would definitely need to pad the plunger head.

Quite literally a modulus longstrike mod. Also a random cool fact about the modulus longstrike, you can use a retaliator half dart kit in it. It's amazing. And a retaliator metal plunger tube and catch. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't think what I'm saying is possible but trust me , it is. Then again I'm the kind of guy who takes his aeon pro and turns it into a stampede so... (._.)

I actually put two jolts at the bottom as an m203 and a magnified shit scope and a canted non magnified shit red dot, along with a ghili wrap, i have now evolved to making the m110 hit, like an m110

Dude, you either need to remove the boltsled lock or get a plunger pad. Even 5k is enough to shatter the plunger rod if you have no ar and no pad. (Even with little to no dryfiring)

That’s the hard part. There’s no easy way to do it, but basically you will need to wiggle a thin flat screwdriver in next the orange tabs where they click into place and wiggle them loose. I had to use a bit of force on mine but they didn’t break when they came out. They may strain a bit but your mileage may vary.

I can confirm that the 7kg Worker Retaliator spring fits in the BASR, no catch upgrade needed. Without AR removal mine went from 65-60fps average with Elite darts and 50s with worn accufakes to 85fps average with Elite and 80fps average with fresh Accufakes. I suppose if you remove the AR you get the 90fps you were looking for. Will post our nerf clubs mod video this saturday (it will be in german though). Magwell mod: I needed to remove a bit more material from the shell next to the magwell to make 18 round stick mags really click in place. Also the worker clear 10round long dart magazine looks as if it was made for this blaster. :)
