I won't say it's not RNG, but celebi + serperior lets you get so many coin flips that you get the desired result much more often than not, gaining the element of consistency that coin flips normally lack

Managed to beat this comp with old Weezing + Scolipede + Tauros. The only real requirement is that you get to Scolipede before they get Serperior out and having Taurus as a backup is super good because it 1 shots Celebi and mew with either a Gio or one poison tick

I've been running Moltres ex + Blaine package to counter this. New Magmar with Blaine one shots Celebi. With the new Rapidash, if you flip heads Giovanni is enough to take it out too!

Magmar takes more energy to be of use. Better to have mons that can attack faster. Plus you don't need it you have ninetales and rapidash. Just kick Magmar out and give more energy to ninetales.

Yes I am very well aware Magmar discards 2 energy but for the purpose of taking out Celebi it does its job is also why I ran Moltres ex ramp. Yes I'm aware Magmar has 2 retreat cost but Leaf is also a card to use now. Yes I'm aware Ninetails is a Blaine staple but there are times it being stage 1 makes it a little slower. With Leaf I'm not afraid to run Moltres and Magmar, Xspeed is can also be put in the deck for extra safe measures. With Magmar being basic it also leaves more room for item + supporter cards as opposed to playing something with a stage 1 or 2 (this is why mewtwo ex is also so good aside from the obvious gardevoir assist) The whole point of my post is I'm giving insight to newer cards, giving them an actual chance and report a feedback, and it is definitely a great counter to Celebi as for now. I haven't said the inclusion of Magmar will make Blaine decks top tier, new pack just came out so go experiment new things first and have fun with them before jumping straight to conclusions.

I mean yeah this is the one deck I struggled with completing the challenges in the solo battle. All the other battles it took maybe 3 tries to get the use the weakness, meanwhile I was using a 1 machamp ex 2 machamp and 2 primeape deck (so not even weak) and I got wiped over and over again. It took like 15 tries. I mean when blaine burst can be a struggle and you have to think really hard about how you play it, only to lose a decent amount anyway, despite the advantage, you got a problem. But yeah Celebi is the new Mist except it's combined with a Marowak

"Normal" being the operative word here. The coin flips are FAR from being 50/50, tails is significantly more common when there's any possibility of a multi-flip. Misty and Celebi are prime examples. To be fair, this is likely a balancing feature, since if it was really 50/50, these cards would be WAAAY too overpowered.

I've been playing this deck for a while now and it's so frustrating, the rng dependency is so frustrating. Either I brick forever and don't even get the cards I want, or I get everything and none of the flips go my way, or I hit 9/10 heads and win instantly there is no in-between with this deck.

My first deck with this set was just a fun druggidon deck but it actually works really well against this deck. I have poliwrath,moltres,and centriscorch as the backup to druddigon and its worked almost every match against the deck. The combination of type advantage and damage from poliwrath and drudiggon abilities is fun to play with as well.

I just thought up an interesting hypothetical deck. If you do a grass water mixed deck, add vaporeon. It has an insane ability called wash out that allows you to move your energy to the active Pokémon. With some misty luck you can move the energy to celebi. With that and serperiors ability for doubling grass energy, on top of water energy from misty, celebi would be OP. Haven’t tested it at all yet tho.

See if u get misty luck before you get serperior set up then as along as you have one grass energy you can still do crazy damage. And u can hold two misty cards so you have two chances. Vice versa is true too. You could also get serperior luck before vaporeon is set up and still go crazy. The plan only hinges on the fact that at least one or the other is set up to work.

Well the new Evee Don't need to combo for me it's just reads Misty but a Pokemon and if you're facing a very lucky opponent it can even 1 shot a ex Pokemon while when you play it as usual its always tails always fails😢

Small sample size but… fails like a tails handicap on celebi. Something like.. -0.5% chance of heads per energy. 2 energy = 49/51 4 energy = 48/52 6 energy = 47/53 7 tails and 1 heads is the worst I seen so far 8 heads 2 tails has been the best I got. But again, insignificant sample size

I really think celebi is the bigger problem. Even if serperior wasn't in the deck, celebi is too strong . They need to rework celebi. Adding more energy cost will not do it because even a 3 cost would be broken without serperior. And adding a mechanic like misty where the first tail flip stops it would make it dumb rng The only way to fix celebi is to rewrite it.
