Nerf Longstrike direct plunger full mod guide

I love this mod so much and never found any start to finish mod guides. I was so excited when I got the opportunity to make one!

Wow, I'm glad It works. If you want a really good spring I suggest old buzz bee blaster springs, they're heavy but not heavy enough to require both hands to prime.

That's the spring coils scraping the catch because the spring is too wide.

Well I'm glad it's helpful, tell me how it goes and if you have any issues with it refusing to catch. That was my number one problem the first time I did it.

@@springsandsanity6366 Yeah I did the mod and had problems with catching but it was me not securing the plunger tube properly with the plastic posts. It had some play and wouldn’t catch so I used electrical tape to secure it and angle the tube a bit up so the plunger can be caught by the catch.

Nice mod! I took the air restrictor out of my Nitefinder and I'm getting better ranges then the grey and yellow Nitefinder I got from goodwill

Have you tried making the seal better? That would be the next step, teflon tape and silicone grease.

@@digi1kx If you feel like it, try to find some, it'll make your blaster better and more robust. But whatever you do don't use grease from a can like WD-40, it'll eat up the o-ring and then the plastic.

No I messed up. It wasn't quite aligned so when I forced it the brass caved in a bit wrecking the seal. But if you DO brass the barrel you'll need a heavy spring and the bolt sled isn't gonna like that.

And have you actually measured your yard? My range is 92 feet across, but diagonal it's about 150.

Unfortunately no. I have tried numerous times and it just resulted in a deploy that won't deploy anymore and only hit 80 fps. Then I tried just modding the stock internals and got 100.

I used a nail for the taking apart of the metal bolt holder and it worked great, don’t use a drill bit.

Dude I have a question - my longstrike was used when I got it and I thought it was fine, but it doesn't shoot further than 10 ft and rlly no power also it makes like a fart sound and Idk if its broken. Do u have any tips?

Certainly. I've seen the breech crack in those things allowing air to escape before propelling the dart. The seal could also be going bad. Try lubricating the O-ring and shoving something under it so it's tighter. Teflon tape would work best.

Hey, I've been looking to supe up my longstrike for an event that allows most mods, except aftermarket springs for safety reasons. This conversion is really impressive and I was wondering if you have any advice on how to do this while using the full draw of the retaliator spring instead of swapping it. Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks!

once you do the mod for the longstrike, it'll require a new spring if you want performance since it will shoot below what the original longstrike did and also once the mod has been completed, the stock retailator spring doesnt compress all the way which is the reason why the stock spring underperforms. the point of the mod is change it to direct plunger and be able to put a stronger spring that wont break the internals compared the the reverse plunger where people have put stronger springs in their unmodded longstrike to find out that the springs break the stock internals. a 5kg spring will do you fine for ur situation

Hey SAS! I'm quite late on this vid but I have some questions, number 1, how did you go wrong with brass breeching because I am trying to do that too but I really don't wanna break mine :) number 2, why not take out the retaliator AR? It will only cause worse airflow right? That's it!

I messed up the brass breech because I kept carving it down to compensate for the lack of travel from the xpt. And I wouldn't remove the retaliator AR because it's a good design so removing it wouldn't do anything besides make dry firing harmful.

buy/thrift Whiteout Longstrike Remove internals Replace internals according to mod (or simplify the process by using Modulus Longstrike internals) Upgrade Spring Add Picatinny top rail and whatever optic you want to (optional) Add Nexus Pro magazine adapter if you want to use short darts Result Whiteout Direct Plunger Longstrike.
