Just bought a nerf lot that had 4 longshots in it. This is wonderful! Just replaced the spring on one with a broken big bad bow spring while watching your video, and am now able to put everything seamlessly back together! You are a treasure to the community!

Thanks for this as I was getting a bit confused as to why my Longshot was not smooth firing after went back to the OEM spring for my nephew to use. The amount of engineering that goes into these blasters is pretty impressive for a toy. Mad scientists out there with Hasbro

Thankyou captain this video is especially important to me seeing as my first mag fed blaster is still in the remaining collection i kept from the 200 i had long ago. I need to do maintenance on it but seeing as it is one i dont want to replace i was afraid of how i should take it apart im hopeing that 10 plus years of no cleaning hasn't been too harsh to the spring it was constantly in a pool in my youth. The worst is permanent sun bleached plastic and brittle spots on the stock. I broke and lost the original bolt at some point and resorted to useing a brass rod and bent it into a new bolt. That dart tooth in the breach is the bane of my existence right now. It butchers any dart type that isn’t the original orange streamlines. Looking for a way to mod that part of the assembly so it will accept elites and waffle heads without eating them. Apparently only the original Longshot has that issue, future versions accept elite darts out of the box. But I’m attached to it by nostalgia, the greatest adhesive.

I think you are right when you say there might have been a dust cover or a mag well block of some sort inside of the blaster at some point.

Have one in the works, bolt is brassed , dead space removed , bolt sled reinforced, explorer spring found , needing brass for the barrel to finish the basics. People are wanting alot for these still, got lucky thrifting mine, a little annoying the zombie strike one doesn't have the magazine guides

Great video! I bought a new spring from Out of Darts and installed it. But it didn’t improve the FPS by much although much harder to prime. Then put tape over the air hole and added Teflon tape to plunger O ring for better seal. Still not much better air seal. Anything else I should try?

Well, you need to figure out where the air is leaking. There are several possible places. The plunger O-ring is one. I believe the bolt also has an O-ring. But ultimately, there is a limit to how much power you can get out of a stock system by just increasing the spring and seals. There is a reason all modern high-powered springs have full sealed breaches.

I found an original long shot with 18 clear mag with the front gun that I attached to the long shot didn't grab it cause I didn't know if it was discounted the front barrel was there for awhile at 5 dollars with discount
