Taping the holes actually reduced the distance the darts went. I tested when I had the barrel removed, after removing the restrictor, covering the holes negates the removal of the restrictor.

I guess when you tape them you remove any inertia the plunger can get, which means you rely on only spring pressure

Do not cover the holes on the plunger. The inside diameter of the plunger is tapered so compression on the piston o-rings only occurs in the last 1.5". The air vents allow the piston to move forward unrestricted until the piston travels to the last 1.5" where positive compression occurs. I am an engineer.

Hes saying that the holes allow the piston/plunger to move forward more smoothly and creates a better more consistent air flow, same thing with airsoft guns

It makes the blaster more powerful. The air restrictor blocks some of the pipe so not that much air can travel through it to the dart, but by taking the air restrictor out your making the blaster have a bigger gap for air to travel through to the dart

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed in my Centurion. Accuracy was crappy, had a horrible jamming problem, and had really inconsistent ranges. But I love it. Great for CQB which is what I do (I can basically only do CQB 1v1 with one of my friends, not close enough to any of the actual Nerf events and etc) because of the power. Hits like a mother hubbard and makes my friends angry xD

I kinda have a problem, I bought a used broken Nerf Centurion and i noticed that when i prime it back and forward, the inner barrel/plunger isn't alligned with the front part of the gun and hence it jams the dart always. There is a bit of play when I prime it backwards such that if i hold it to the back, it alignes it but the moment i push the prime forward, the barrel drops. Do you think having or installing a 12kg spring that is strong will solve this issue?

i modified the longstike and its nearly the same but you have to brake with a drill ora a screw driver air regulator and when you shoot it it makes a lot of noise

Not sure yet. Theoretically all you need to do really is adapt a means of fitting in a new magazine, then throw a sleeve inside the old dart tooth to narrow the diameter

@@owen7189 yep I used 10mm - 24mm bb's at round 110psi fall was about 1-2ft over 100meters lets say you could never find the bb's lol

I'm afraid to open mine up for fear of breaking something. I've had 2 unsuccessful Nerf mods and I don't want to break my other favorite blaster, like I did with my Stampede. I'd really like to know how the catch works on this gun so I can figure out a way of locking it better when priming it, because mine has a huge problem with that. I'd also like to know how the darts feed and such for further helping the jamming problem. But I don't want to open mine to try and figure it out cuz I don't wanna break it. Also, is it possible to lube the plunger tube and replace the spring and/or put more tension on the spring? I'd like to further increase power not only with the air restrictor or release valves.

If u broke a stampede don’t open this, they work in a similar fashion and it starts caught the jamming may be the darts mega darts are bad when quickly chambered, however it could have its dart guide lengthened to prevent jamming also the tube is solvent welded together

Hi , i have one of this. Of course it belongs to my son. an object had escaped into it. I opened my body. but now the trigger is not working. working with the lid open while preparing the mechanism. but when I close, the trigger gets harder and doesn't move. Do you know why?

erdal karakaşlıoğlu try using silicon grease to lubricate all of the moving parts to make it works better and if you want more power try to put some tephlon tape under the o ring

Eh not really the darts are so inaccurate the rifling would just slow down the darts if anything. Perhaps on homemades like 3DBBQ's stuff it helps but certainly not for stock darts.

I might do this mod, a spring enhancement, and actually attach some size of PVC or CPVC to the blaster itself, not use the barrel, and make sure all my seals are good, hopefully this will increase accuracy, if not, i might weight the dart tips a little bit :D

That's not necessarily true... Look farther above in the comment section, a guy that is an engineer explains how the holes help the blaster work. Basically, they help the plunger move more smoothly through the tube for more consistent air flow and more consistency in the power of the gun. Plugging them up actually makes it worse.

Sorry that I'm seven years late but it prevents the blaster from being damaged by dry firing, it only lets air through when a dart is chambered and closes as soon as the dart moves an inch, it restricts power.

Found them on ebay from Target for $25/piece shipped. Had to pick up two. One to mod and another to either keep in box for sh*ts and giggles or eventually integrate the mag into a magnus.

I modded a zombie strike sledgefire (was a pain in the a**) but now it sounds like a beast and hits like a truck. I made individual barrels for the darts and made it reload like a Winchester (so u put each bullet in individually)

The centurion doesn't fire 100 feet. In reality, it averages 50-80 at an angle. Archangel upped it to almost ninety feet at an angle. His distances became more consistent, and while accuracy was improved, the centurion's pretty lame when it comes to hitting targets in the first place. He didn't mess with your gun, he messed with his; so don't call him an asshole. If anyone is an asshole in this situation, it would be you.
