Awesomeness! Not nearly as freaked out by LiPo now.

I think you probably just saved somebody's garage. It just can't be stressed too much: FINISH one wire before you even LOOK sharply at the other.

I can't wait to burn my house down. Still waiting for that extra money so I can wire up the Rhino motors.

How do you think the XT30 connectors would fair on a 3s pack to 130 motors?
@foamdataservices8 жыл бұрын
Too low rated, Rhinos pull 10-12Amps EACH stall. Stock 130's might be ok. Just use a deans if in doubt. Better to have a slightly larger connector than a melted one. The Deans is only 3 mm or so thicker than XT30, properly soldered the XT30 is almost the same length. The XT30 is great for stock motors on Stryfes or plug in modded pushers in RS, not good enough for main power on anything over 15A peak IMO. I like a safety margin in everything, that's why my stuff is so well known for quality.

+Foamdata Services Alright! Deans it is then. Thanks for the reply

I'm planning to change my JST discharge plug into an XT60 plug. Is the fluks (might have spelt wrongly) necessary for changing connectors?
@foamdataservices9 жыл бұрын
I use a separate Flux because that's how I was taught. Look up how to solder and pick a method that works for you, I use leaded solder too, as it's more forgiving. Practice first on some scrap to get a feel for your solder and remember to tin the wire and the connector first.
@jonathanlim45859 жыл бұрын
I am taught to solder like that I just wonder whether it's necessary to use Flux for the job. I do have a lot of heat shrink though. Hah

It's up to you wether you use a separate flux. I stand on over 20 years soldering in other applications and 30+ Nerf builds for top flight players in very heavy use, not a single solder joint failure.

Hi. Is it possible to upgrade a Nerf Rival Zeus with LiPO batteries? If so, what would be their specs? Do you, by any chance, have a guide for this? Thanx.
@foamdataservices8 жыл бұрын
+Guida e Pedro Ribeiro Very easy to do, you need a 3s stick pack and the guide is here- torukmakto4.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/nerf-rival-zeus-r-begins-stage-1.html You can also get a complete rewire kit here- blastersmiths.co.uk/products/rival-zeus-wiring-upgrade-kit Note full wiring diagram on the BSUK page.

+Foamdata Services Thank you for the feedback. Is the 3 stick pack the maximum limit or can it have more?
@foamdataservices8 жыл бұрын
3s is best for performance. More doesn't help HIR's, they top out at 120fps. Anything beyond that and they lose their accuracy for no gain in max range.

hello i would like to put a lipo inside of my rayven. problem is that i don't know which of these wires i should cut and put a connector on... do you have any exprience with the rayven and lipos? thanks in advance
@foamdataservices8 жыл бұрын
You must FULLY REWIRE if you want to use Lipo. The Rayven wiring is just like the Stryfe. Copy my Stryfe guide and instead of wiring to the battery tray contacts put the ends of the wires out into the battery tray and add a Deans connector. You will have to take all the springs and ribs out of the tray.

Foamdata Services i've done it! works perfectly fine on my 2s zippy lipo! thanks for the tutorial

I was able to fit a 1000mah 3S lipo in the stock and use the battery tray to house the connectors. Was enough room to hide the balance wires too.

does This also count for an rc accu with 8 cello?
@Samuel-iv4qt8 жыл бұрын
*cells
@foamdataservices8 жыл бұрын
+samuel van der schoor Not quite sure what you are asking. The only 8 cell packs with any Nerf application would be a 9.6v NiMh pack, which are too long for the Rapidstrike and result in run away firing with stock motors. You can use them in the Stampede/Vulcan. The 9.6v stick packs are good in the Rival Zeus
@foamdataservices8 жыл бұрын
+samuel van der schoor Also if the cells are AA battery sized they don't have enough discharge rate for any modded stuff, you need sub C Nimh cells to get the discharge rate required for 6kg Stampede or Vulcan springs as well as RS motors, particularly modded ones. More voltage doesn't = more power, it often just results in excess flywheel rpm and dart burn or in AEG's the rate of fire goes too high and you blow the gearbox.
@Samuel-iv4qt8 жыл бұрын
+Foamdata Services ok i've watched it in another video and he could do it with an 8 cell batterypack

Changing the connector is the same for any size battery, just do like in this video.

Hey tom, following your 50 cal barricade tutorial I sourced a 3s lipo battery that I liked since it'll fit in the stock battery tray, I'll be running rhinos, would you recommend me changing the connector of this and if so to what? www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=64210
