I'm making a Maverick into a N99 10mm pistol from Fallout 3, and I found a good way to make something look worn. I have bottles of paint, not pots, so I squirted some out, took a paper towel, rubbed the paint into the paper towel, and then I sort of rubbed it all over the blaster, and it turned out great! Im just sharing this technique, because I think it might help other modders like me. Also, thank you Drac for getting me into modding. You inspired me to make my first cosmetic mod, a minimized nite finder which didn't go too well (I tried using puddy to fill the gaps and it turned out really bad), as well as many other things. I'm currently prepping my new ZS Longshot for painting.

Today me and a few friends put a dart head inside of a large, very fast spinning fan. It flew around madly while getting hit by the blades and sounded like popcorn. (The blades were facing upwards.)

One thing I have seen my friend do is take painters tape and mark how big your parts are going to be, Then take that with the tape on it and cut it out and lay that film with the tape and all in the water. The tape acts as a frame and allows you to keep it together when you spray the activator on the film. Then dip and just scoop out the tape and it take the film with it. It is fast and works well and he can actually roll the blaster from one side to the other and get a continuous surface this way. Then let it dry and cut with a razor where the seams are on the blaster. Just though this might help.

Hey Drac, just wanted to say thank you for all the years of videos you’ve done for the community. This blaster was the blaster that inspired me to start modding my blasters more than five years ago and I’ve been in the community ever since. You and this blaster are responsible for me finding this amazing community. The great friends I’ve made in this community, the memories I’ve made in this group of foam flinging enthusiasts is the reason my life turned around and I will never be able to thank you enough for helping me get back onto the right path. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I will always be a fan.

Drac, this is Brando and I love your videos but one thing I dislike is the same gun mods like stryfe, rayven, and hammershot so what I am asking is that you do more of a variety of guns. And I do love your integrations and dip jobs. Hopefully you can meet this request, Thanks, Brando

Draco this video is great it shows a lot about your character and great personality. I is true that you make it look so easy. When I started watching you a year and a half ago I thought u were perfect. I tried to replicate a gun u made and failed miserably. Since then I learned a lot about nerf and hobby work, how much time is spent on projects to try and get them just how you want it. This video is great. Draco keep up the god work.

I tried Hydro dipping. I think it helped that I cut the film to fit in the container and did the dip at an angle.
@tribalairsoft5139 жыл бұрын
Wanted to say something that might help you in future videos. In order to keep the hydro dipping sheets less wrinkled and damaged, try to take painters tape and tape all the edges of the sheet. Another thing is when applying the dip to the gun, slowly dip the gun in at an angle for best clean dips. Thanks for the awesome vids and keep the good work up!

hey drac could you do like a paint guide on a gun with like an in depth tutorial showing how you sand down the gun and what type of paint is best, that would be awesome if you do as im having trouble finding out what paint i need to use for my hammershot i want to customise. thanks!

Hey drac, I'm by no means a hydro-dipper (heck I'd never even heard of the process til I first saw it on this channel) but I'd like to make a suggestion that seems like it would make the process easier. Instead of just placing the film directly on the water, maybe try making some kind of frame you could hold the film in? I remember seeing the professionals in your earlier videos on the procedure using some kind of framework in the process.
