Nerida, this is one of my favorite videos from you. This is my third time watching this because there is so much useful information that watching this one is not enough to learn everything. I would love to see a video about how to repair compromised/damaged skin barriers. In highschool I was really oily and acne prone and now in my late 20s I have extremely sensitive skin that is dehydrated and surface dry. I think its because back then, I used foam cleansers, and used walnut shell scrubs everyday (insane, I know now)...I want to reverse all the damage I did in my youth. Please make a video on tips and ingredients in products that can aid repairing the skin's natural barrier.

Hi Nerida, thank you for your no nonsense advice. Both yourself and Jordan Samuel have recently given us reminders about keeping our skincare concise and evidence based. It's so easy to be wooed by claims from influencers and skincare companies who use social media and over hyped marketing to tempt us. I have been guilty in the past of jumping on the bandwagon of the next big thing in an attempt to rejuvenate my 60 year old jowl area😱 I recently tried Rejuvi products but I reacted badly to them so I'm back using JSS and my skin has settled down. Enjoy your time in Sardinia🌞⛱🍷🍝🍧

That was a really good discussion Nerida...yes..very often most has gotten drawn to the “hype” of hyped marketing. The costs, the disappointments..the depression...the beauty industry Marketers comes at you like a freight train...and it’s natural to want something that they make you believe is good for you...and confusion reigns because most are at the mercy of makeup and skincare counters and hair products counters where the amount that you sell triumphs the quality of the products...It is the same with some social media Beauty Videos where they are telling you to mix all kinds of potions and or cut this plant and use it...it’s organic!! I’ve seen what has happened to some of my first time clients...this is a different type of hype...the word “organic” is overused and misunderstood...trust me I live in the Amazon forest!! And to cap it all...I watched a dermatologist recently on KZbin who claimed that all you get from facials is a good cleanse and moisturizer...that’s all you pay for...science has proven that we..the skincare Therapist can only wash and moisturize the skin....but then I smiled when I thought about you and your experience and your knowledge and your models and how the things you teach just makes sense...and I think of all the people listening to this dermatologist who will probably stop doing facials...that’s some serious hype.

It’s mid range products line (not in terms of pricing). There are some good products in the line. Dermalogica is a great company for teaching esthetician’s using their products and recruiting estheticians to use their line. Great training however, is Nerida’s free videos here and her paid FiveStar program teaching for estheticians online is the best. I wouldn’t waste my money or time training with anyone else.

@fgostoryteller21685 жыл бұрын
Andreea Saitoc it is very powerful. Can only be use a few times a week. It is better to use a vitamin A product from a good brand that you can apply every night and build your skin strength.
@devon.pfeifer5 жыл бұрын
There is nothing to wrong with prescription Retin-A. The issue is that the majority of people using it, stop using it before the reap the benefits, because of the long awkward stage of irritation, dermatitis, and peeling that generally occurs from prescription strength. There is no denying that it works, but non-prescription strength vitamin A products also work... slower, but they do work, and often without/without as much of the side effects.
@2550945 жыл бұрын
Thank you guys! I am using prescription retinA for years and I still get every so often few days of pealing so I understand what you are saying, but most of the time I am fine and I will probably continue using it with a moisturizer or nourishing cream on top and always spf during the day
@zeynand40395 жыл бұрын
@@255094 with retin-a or retinol it's most important to use it regularly, if you still peel every so often ir's fine to go down in strength as long as you use it daily/regularly. 0.025 or 0.05 are fine if you don't peel.
@2550945 жыл бұрын

Believe me, it gets better. With puberty it's normal that the hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum. Look for products that have Niacinamide, at least 4%. Niacinamide is a sebum regulator ( among many other amazing things). It's not something that gives results overnight, but it's very good if you are consistent. For good skin you need to be consistent, don't drop products after 2 weeks because they don't seem to work. Give them time! :)
@devon.pfeifer5 жыл бұрын
Hello! 👋🏼 I understand how you feel. What does the rest of your regimen look like? What kind of products do you cleanse and exfoliate with? Foaming Cleanser and scrubs? Also, take into consideration that number 1, you are 14-hormone levels are higher, which means an increase in testosterone, which contributes to oiliness. Number 2, it is summer, and heat will stimulate oil glands. The Rejuvi conditioner is meant to control, not stop it. But your age and climate play a big role. Make sure your routine to keep clean is right for you! It will improve.
