Mycenaean (greeks), Ionian (greeks), aegeans (greeks), early-romans, chaldeans, phoenicians have more historical connection to old anatolia, the minoans, carians, hittites, achaemenid (persians). More than islamism or the ottomans. Turks(seljuk turks) weren't in asia minor (anatolia) until around the first millenium AD. Today we know stuff like mesopotamia, tiamat, gilgamesh, anubis, hermeticism, zoroatrianism etc, because it was preserved/salvaged by hellenes (and would otherwise be lost/burnt) who lived in persian, ottoman, egyptian, indian territories, transcribring older egyptian, sanskrit, aramaic into hellenic, and from hellenic to modern latin, germanic, slavic, and arabic languages.
