Nero Festival 2017: Grand Final 2017 [Fate Grand Order]

I've been seeing people call this stage "super easy". Meanwhile everyone is spamming Merlin/Waver still... Honestly Merlin and Waver have been making boss fights "easy" since forever, nobdy should be surprised they continue to do that. Fights like King Hassan and Leonardo are "harder" but only because they are designed specifically with ALL the stupid OP SSRs in mind. Fights like that are not enjoyable for the bulk of the player base. Balancing boss fights around one or two broken/OP units doesn't work. And yes anyone can bring Merlin as a support but we should not live in a world where EVERY hard boss, you HAVE to auto pilot Merlin as your bloody support. That's clearly bad design and it's also boring.
Only restrictions I gave myself were no SSRs and no CS. Beat this with a few taem setups and I found the fight quite enjoyabe everytime.
In terms of gimmicks I think this fight is well designed. I just think the bosses need a bit more HP, so you have to respect their gimmicks.

i agree with your description. all the challenge quests ("need to beat part 1 for entry" quests) this year has been high hp bosses that lasts forever. while merlin isn't mandatory, the difference between having him and not is night and day. that's why i loved (most of) the nero quests this year b/c it stuck to nerofest 2016 formula of making team comps to counter specific gimmicks.

Ruler Martha is a joke event character (She can technically be summoned as a ruler, but not in a bikini lol). The canon version of her hasn't been in anything for AGES. To my knowledge she's only been a rate up twice EVER, which would tie her with Brynhildr in terms of rarity were it not for the fact that Martha is available in the story pool (but no one summons from there anyway so it hardly matters).

"tie her with Brynhildr in terms of rarity" Not really. Having only 2 rate ups would still make her way more common than Brynhildr. She isn't story locked like you claim. You can summon her on ANY banner, it's just lower odds. But over the course of more than 2 years, that adds up a lot. Where as Brynhildr has only been available like 4 weeks total in the games lifespan. Saint Martha is also available in the tutorial roll, was available for the free 4* choice near the launch of the game (because tutorial rolls didn't exist yet) and is available as a free 4* choice in the current 10m event as well. She's also one of the select few 4 stars available in the rider class gachas (of which there have been I think 3 total before). All of that said, she isn't too insane to get. She gets less rate ups than a lot of servants which is really noticeable compared to Marie who has gotten double the amount despite being released at the same time. But it's definitely possible to obtain her if you aim for her, with class gachas being a pretty safe bet as long as you've saved up.

I have a ton of friends with Waver in NA and I only ever use him for farming honestly (or if no other Support Caster is available when I do need a Caster--and I don't want tp have a second Medea because it's disorienting). Otherwise, boss fights and such I'll refrain from using both him and Merlin when he comes out. Even for the raid. Gonna show Medea and Emiya are just as badass

King Of Heroes His NP does next to nothing in this fight. I just needed to break Cu Alter's 2 evade stacks. Better to break them with David so David gets NP built. And Cu's normal card does way more damage than George's NP. Plus Cu gets NP charge as well.

King Of Heroes That is even more obvious. Gawain and Cu both have the event damage boost CE. The extra damage from the Buster first card bonus blows the NP out of the water. If I had used his NP I'd have done far less damage. And before you say I should have done Buster >NP > Buster that is still way less damage. Gawain's art card with the buster card bonus greatly out damages the NP. Seriously George without a event CE vs a lvl 100 and a lvl 90 with a event CE...

While I respect your thoughts on challenge quests, I should say: Yes, it can be "boring" for you to clear those quests with OP Servants but some people just want to clear those quests with most efficient and shortest way. And sometimes, it is much funnier with OP Servants dealing insane numbers. I would never say "too easy" for those quests though. Some people have appropriate Servants for those quests while some people may have not, it is not like we are smarter or better players just because we cleared them, it just means we have better luck ( either in gacha or in gameplay), more time to farm and some gameplay knowledge.

The reddit post was full of people saying this stage sucks and is too easy meanwhile posting their teams for it and it being a bunch of Merlin nonsense. As I said to someone else. OP servants are guns, not every stage is a gun fight. If you bring a gun to a knife fight it's going to be boring. King Hassan and Leonardo ARE gun fights. But if every boss was like that this game would be terrible.
