Height will always be a sensitive topic for me. I was very into basketball since I was 13 and had always been training so I could get in semi-professionally and get a scholarship. I noticed I was shorter than my peers and put all my focus into growing taller. I slept lots, ate so much food, even went for HGH injections. In the end, I failed. By the time I was 18, I was 5'6, even then I was about 3 inches taller than my predicted adult height. Both my parents were really short. I think 5’10 is safe. It’s very hard to see the difference in real life between 5’10 and 6ft. I’m like 5’10.5 and usually wear air forces to give me an inch. Here, in Brazil, the average height sits around 5'8~5'9 depending on the state. And the ideal height here is actually 5'11(180cm, which is a round number in centimeters). From 5'7 (170cm) and on I don't think height is a major problem in dating life. I'd say below 5'7 you actually start to lose points and be called short. I'm 5'10.5 (179cm) and often people call me "tall". I was also the second tallest in first year of high school. Before I get into this topic I would like to point out that I never complain about my height in the first place, neither I didn’t know height is an important factor in dating before the explosion of dating apps. I’m 5’5 and I have a very hard time to find a partner on dating apps and in real life. I try going to the gym and changing my diet to make myself more appealing towards women but women wouldn’t even want to go on a date with me because of my height. It’s okay that women prefer taller men as a preference when it comes to attractiveness just like us men have our own preferences with women but this made me feel like I’m not a human being and constantly being discriminated for my height. This might sound weird, but even at 5'7 (170cm) being jacked and having an above average face makes me feel physically superior to many taller guys, unless they are better looking than me of course haha. Also having women and guys checking me out every single day, makes my confidence go through the roof, it's like it has become an addiction for me to want people to look at me everyday. Because think about it, looks is what attracts 99% of guys, so they (women) don't really have any other choice. I want to give some insight, where i live... 5'5 (my height) is taller than 50% of men and 99% of women. This is much difference than USA, where 5'5 is only taller than 0.24% of men. That said, i'm currently still have a target for some sort of limb lengthening procedure. The main reason is for my own life security, being taller than 90-97% of men would definitely enhance my security when i'm going outside. I have a very bad experience with bullies and strangers, so deep down i feel the need to increase my height. Being more attractive and more career opportunity is also a nice benefit, but for me security is the number 1 benefit.

The idea is that the more testosterone you have, the more estrogen you will have (some of your testosterone converts into estrogen). Estrogen is the hormone that seals up the growth plates in the bones. So the theory is, if you have more testosterone (albiet more estrogen) in puberty your bones will seal up faster. It really depends on the person though because, everyone has a very different testosterone to estrogen conversion rate (and how sensitive the bones/growth plates are to estrogen) and people release different amounts of human growth hormone (that is by far the most important variable for height growth during puberty). Overall, genetics is the most factor.

A quick fix here for short guys here (I'm 5'6"), you're going to be pushed around your whole life. But luckily society today has created a more even ground for guys like us. (Even though height wasn't as big of a issue just 30 years ago. ) When you're going to get interviewed for a job, go online and you can buy these dresser shoes. But get the more discreet and casual shoes that boost your height by 4 inches. It's a big game changer. I wouldn't recommend a girl that cares about height but it's your prerogative. Eh, I'm 5'6" (close to 5'7") and never had any issues at all getting girls, and ones I was actually really attracted to, that I'd also say fit the societal definition of attractive (i.e., are in shape, etc.). I've dated girls that are: my height, shorter and taller. I've found personally, the really short ones are the least likely to want to date shorter men, which is funny because if they have kids with a 6ft+ guy, they could easily have a son under, even well under 6ft tall owing to their genetics, who they would consider not dating material.

I feel you man... I'm 17M 5'0. I used to be 5'0 when I was 12 and for some reason I have not grown at all during puberty. I'm extremely depressed because now I always wonder if I would've worried about my height earlier and could have taken HGH and potentially become around 5'5 at least. Long story short, trust me when short men are discriminated. I've been bullied my entire life. I still have vivid memories of being picked on in elementary school for always being the (literally) smallest white kid in the building. I was always viewed as an inferior human being, not sure about the human part. Even in middle school I'd get bullied and degraded for being extremely short and skinny. Except in middle school I was 5'0 and people were shorter now that I'm in high school and every dude is fucking 6'0 towering over my 5'0 puny ass. I am ABSOLUTELY terrified to go to college looking like a 12 year old. I have nearly committed suicide various times because of the bullying, degradation, fear of the future, and overall hating my appearance because every guy seems to have the best genes except for me. For some reason, I actually like the fact that women reject me a lot due to my height. That means that I can try my chances on more beautiful women to the point where one will actually give me a chance. The reality is that most women will reject short men but knowing that not ALL women will reject short men is what keeps me going. Being short does sucks but it toughens you up because you deal with more harsh things than the average man does.
