Is the brake thing an inevitable result of the VAG group cars having TC/ESP "off" but not really (since it incessantly blinks away in the dash despite being supposedly off)? Or do they still have that electronic brake-based "X-Diff" or whatever it was called that might also simply overwork the brakes?

was thinking at the same thing, i have the XDS on my gen2 cupra R and it really never lets off. Planing on installing a mechanical diff. Don't know if gen3 Cupras have mechanical diffs, but from the way it puts power down in turns I wouldn't think so.

​@@alexsmtbfriends4954 Gen3 fwd cupras have the xds, but only working a little bit because the car has the VAQ. Wich in fact is a front lsd, clutch based with electronic management. The same as the haldex awd but only in the front wheels.

It’s a good point you make, already aware of this, like you say without diving further into coding in the car, the traction still interferes even though it says it’s “ fully off “ it’s not. Something next year I’m going to look at, there’s multiple codings to look at, thankyou.

I had this car, but 5 door version. Best car I ever had. "Cheap", lightweight, understaded exterior, and that EA888 engine. They were fast out of the box and just a simple remap really transforms this thing. I still miss it.

When i had my manual cupra the stock clutch lasted a couple thousand miles. Definitely needs to be upgraded and have the clutch delay valve removed 👌
