There are eight counts in Salsa music. The most common styles of salsa involve "breaking" on 1 or on 2. So you can break, or step forward, on 1 or 2. If you are a guy, usually you forward on 1 if you are dancing on 1, or step back on 2 if you are dancing on 2. You should be able to find a basic tutorial for each style here on KZbin.

They started on 1 and switched to on 2, they switched at 0:25. Nery typically dances on 1, Tanja on 2, but they can both dance on either one.

Can you explain 1 and 2, I have no idea, I dance salsa not as good because I have trouble on my turns.

I don't know if it's because they've haven't been dancing together as often as before, or maybe Nery isn't getting better, or I'm improving too much haha. But they used to look and do better in older videos. Tanja is getting prettier though.

La Alemana es buenísima bailando Bachata pero experta en Salsa no lo es. Baila Salsa como una aprendís k esta aprendiendo a bailar Salsa. Alíen Martínez y Fernando Sosa son los Reyes bailando Salsa. Mi humilde opinion.
