I love this soundtrack and others by the Follin brothers with a burning passion, but there are much better OSTs: Journey to Silius, Treasure Master, Batman 1 and 2, Shatterhand, and Mr. Gimmick. This one is definitely the most atmospheric in my opinion. It sets a great mood for the game. Only thing it’s missing is the Terminator theme.

Speaking of Journey To Silius, they made a rom hack remake of it's original Terminator 1 guise here before the project got canned into Silius. It's decent rom hack of the original game blue prints to the best of the hacker's ability.

This game seems to get a lot of flak, but I honestly found it to be surprisingly decent. Yeah, it is flawed, but you have pretty solid graphics, surprisingly fluid animation for NES standards, good music, atmosphere of the movie is well preserved and key scenes are all in there. Gameplay is also not ideal and suffers a bit from changing things up just when you are starting to get a hang of it, but what is there is actually pretty solid.

I've only ever beat this like 3 times in the early 90's and I've memorized all the levels but the steel plant drove nuts at times with it's erratic platforming parts. But this actually a pretty good game, far from perfect but it has it's moments especially when you complete a level and the mission parameters right. The soundtrack is highly atmospheric and tense. An underrated movie tie game with some problems but is still a blast to play.
@peterkrug23275 жыл бұрын
7:00 I remember playing this as a kid and when I got to the first level boss I tried ducking down and punching and punching and punching...and he just wouldn't die. I could never figure out what I really needed to do to beat him. It sure would've been nice if there had been some in-game hint that you need to punch and then jump over him and then punch again. Also it seems pretty dumb that your character, a T-800 terminator, would have such a hard time beating a human who's just a head taller than it.

This is a weird game for me: I only ever played it once at my Aunt's house for a couple of hours. And even as an 8 year old, I could tell that there were serious problems with it. The weird part is that it's not even a crappy game, as far as Nes titles go. It was just really, _really_ hard. I recall as a kid thinking: "This is ridiculous. Nobody should be asked to endure this mess." It was vindicating to learn that the rest of the world agreed with me.

I remember this game. In all honesty, I thought this game was rather decent. Mind you, it's not the best. But nor was it the worst. It was decent compared to the atrocity that was Terminator 2 for the SNES and Sega Genesis. And surprisingly, this was one of the VERY few decent games that LJN made back in the day. But there are a few things about this game that are lacking. And while this game is pretty short and only five levels, at least it stays true to the movie's ending. Which is more that can be said for the SNES and Sega Genesis versions.
@frataltay45436 жыл бұрын
