I'm gonna say it, this is my favorite NES/FC game. The variety in the events is great, the music's amazing, the amount of characters it introduces to the Kunio series is staggering and I've lost count of how many times I've played this simple yet, complex and addicting game. At first I was really bad but I played it multiple times, I've been able to consistently win at it (unless I get screwed over in the second to last room in the obstacle course) which was extremely satisfying. I absolutely adore this game which is a lot to say since I only started playing it a couple months ago but I've hardly been able to put it down. My favorite 3rd generation game and my 2nd favorite game in the whole series (behind Rival Showdown).

Oh my God, ive been playing this game since i was just 6years old way back 1996. Today as this very moment march 29 2024, i just knew that this game called kunio kun downtown nekketsu. The copy that we bought was japanese version, we just memorize everything just to get the game started. Several trial and errors on how to start the race. Damn so much memories on this game. We can play and laugh all day long with this single game.

It's on the Famicom Mini though it's tricky to play with the tiny controller. Hard to rapid tap with my hands cramped together like that. The Famicom Mini is made to scale so the controllers have to shrunk to be stored on the console like on the real thing.

So this is what preceded the game that would become “Crash & The Boys: Street Challenge”. If that attempt of Technos to localize the Kunio games like that lasted longer, I feel like this could work as a Crash game. Maybe the localized title could go along the lines of “Crash & The Boys: Gladiator Challenge”, as the game reminds me of game shows like American Gladiators. Also, yikes, the fan translators definitely look like they gave up in the end. It’s nothing but gibberish text from then on near the end.

My Dad bought for me the game "Galaga" the classic of aliens vs a spaceship, but it was a mistake. The game was this actually! but with the picture of Galaga in the front of the cartridge. What a beutiful mistake :,) this was my all time favorite of NES and it maked my childhood...

@@damagesan544 That's Reihou Academy (the host team is from there, in red color), where the events of the game took place. She also studies there and was the Master of Ceremonies of the athletic meet, that was organized by Toudou (the dude from the intro that taunts you) By the context the meet just ended and she is watching the sunset after everyone already left lol. It's written OWARI in the screen (THE END in japanese)
