Yes definitely a fun thrift flip idea! Umm as for tips.. I’d say watch out for those threads on the side they can get caught in the seam while sewing and look weird once you’re done.

What kind of machine do you have? You may want to play around with the tension on your machine to match with the fabric you’re working with. Also be sure it’s threaded correctly because any little mishap could cause you problems while sewing.
