Great demonstration, I just got my machine and I'm quite excited, never thought about I can make hot chocolate with it or press again for more coffee from the same pod, thank you for the tips

Hi! I have this machine as well and I kept wondering about something, I usually make lungo coffee, at first when the coffee is pouring is pretty dark, but a few seconds pass and it s becoming clear, not to mention about pouring a second shot of coffee from the same pod. I am really curious to hear your opinion on this. Does not this affect the coffee s strength?

Hi Ella, I'd say that's pretty normal and I experience it as well. It might vary depending on what type of pod you use. I guess the ultimate test is the taste.

Is there a way to make the coffee hotter - the espresso is warm and not hot.
@Jerram892 жыл бұрын
You could try adding warmed water to the tank before pouring your shot but I’m not sure if the heat block will compensate (ie it may only target a certain temp rather than just arbitrarily heating)

Hi Deloached. I’m a little bit confused: On my Lattissima (same model), when doing a Cappuccino, the milk comes out first (which is not the way Cappuccini are made. On your machine, coffee always comes first. Right? Then, on the other hand, my Latte Macchiati are prepared correcty (milk first), whereas yours seem to be done with coffee first (I didn’t see which button you pressed, though). Could you please confirm this? Thanks. (Cappuccino on my machine is like in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGOrppyKeMmSppY)

Hi Nick, On my machine the coffee and milk order seems to be determined by the graphic on the button. So, middle left button milk comes first, and middle right and bottom left button coffee comes first. There may be slight variations in how the buttons are laid out between sub models.

@@Jerram89 Thanks for your quick reply. Paradoxically, on my machine, the white background on the buttons means coffee, the dark one means milk. (The upper two are plain coffee drinks and they are full white, the lower right is plain milk and the icon is fully dark.) That being said, I also assumed the icons would indicate what comes first, coffee (white) or milk (dark). But it appears that it's not the case only for Cappuccino. I guess I will write DeLonghi to be sure. Cheers!

Setting the water hardness got me totally lost, so I skipped that. Also, my first few attempts have resulted in either too much froth or not enough coffee. The buttons on top are confusing. I get the different sized mugs, the ratio of coffee to froth is not clear. I like large cups of coffee with a small amount of froth. I have yet to figure out how to do this with one touch. And lastly, if you use the milk container straight from the fridge, you're putting cold milk into a hot coffee, so the end result is a warm coffee. Australians like hot coffee. If you take your time drinking it, it gets cold. Winter will be the real test. The settings are for European countries, where it is normal to have warm, not hot coffee. Any takeaway coffee sold here is usually hot, not warm, even with milk.

You can program some of the settings: the manual tells you how. You should be able to get what you desire but I’d watch not to overextract the pod. As for the heat, yes that’d be true, but would be there be a big difference between cold milk from the bottle into a room temp dispenser if you make it straight away? Also the hotter the milk the more froth you’ll get even on the minimum setting.

I store my milk in the fridge. It comes out hot, the frother heats it up really fast. It's much better to add cold milk to the tank rather than warm or room temp milk.
