Nest thermostat delay fixed

you are the man. swithing the wires at nest and hvac worked. was wondering why my ac kept kicking on and off when it never did that before. My nest has been hooked for for 2 years, never had a problem before until now.

I have the same problem, and this solved it, thanks op. 1st, turn off your unit, there should be a switch right on the furnace. if you are unsure, switch off the furnace at the electrical panel. all furnace has a C port, and the C port already has one wire connected, and that wire going outside. just take the G wire, add on top of that wire. go back to your nest, take out the G wire and plug it into the C port. turn on your furnace, and problem solved. the problem should never be there in the first place, I guess somebody at google/nest fucks up the software, what a pos.

Mine already has blue common connected and all showing OK, but it got me to dig into it deeper again, and it turned out under pro settings the use of fan was not activated.. I activated it and now my nest has no delay at all.

Hey bro is this why i feel like ever since switching to nest i fee like the house doesnt get cool like it used to??? I was thinking of just switching to ecobee thermostat instead. Thanks for the support.

i think that you have to set the fan to run at least 30 min per hour in order to keep the ion battery charged sufficiently without adding the extra wire.

My thermostat is the same model as yours, but it will not heat! It just stays in this heat mode and says "in 25 minutes" or "in 40 minutes" but it never changes. Sometimes it will go from 35 to 40 to 35 to 40 again. I hate hate HATE this thermostat, nothing but trouble.

Never had that issue. Idk man. Maybe make sure the common wire is installed, only thing I can think of.

I'm having issues with the heat, it is set to 70 but for some reason i would look and see that the temp has gone down to 69 and the system still hasn't turned on. Will this common wire be a solution to my problem as well?

Check the settings. Could be a 2 degree difference before it kicks on. Maybe the fan delay setting also.
