You had an extra blue wire coiled around all your wires ( brown wire)which means you can use that extra wire for your C wire. I watched another video that explained you might have a extra wire coiled and was able to fix mine and not use the g wire :)
@jonathanaustin8841 Жыл бұрын
It was coiled around one side but not the other. I was going to attempt to run a dedicated c wire but figured this fix will work for the time being.

Here’s the problem I’m having, the compressor went out, had it replaced.(only the compressor, not the condenser) used one of them Home Warranty things that we pay for monthly so they go the cheaper route. Well, it wasn’t cooling properly meaning I would set the temperature to 70 and it would not reach temperature. Say for instance, it was 76° in here. It took seven hours to cool down to 70°, seven hours! With the old air conditioner when it was working, it took probably an hour to cool down 6°. See what I mean. Now I have to keep it at like 73 or 74° so it cuts off otherwise the air conditioner will run constantly trying to keep it cool. I would keep it on 72 and it would cycle through like it normally would previously. They replaced some other part in the attic.(the part that you were showing us with the wires, ours is in the attic) our condenser/compressor is on the side of the house. So that’s my story. I don’t know what else it could be. I told them that it’s not going to work right until they replace the condenser unit. Don’t half ASS do the job by replacing the JUST the compressor. But that’s what they did. They did not approve the condenser but that’s what it’s going to take I think. I read something about the thermostat possibly being dirty, but I have a nest thermostat very similar to yours so I don’t know. Oh, and supposedly the Freon level is OK.

Hi, trying to follow your instructions here! I have 3 zones, so after switching the G and C in the three nest thermostats, I also switch the same in the board? I’m confused by the blue and yellow in the Y1. Please help!!

So if you make a jumper from your cool to fan do you have to switch the jumper to the heater in the next season?

So did you have a wire for G and C initially and then just moved G to C? Cause mine has a wire for both already but seems like during the day it runs non stop but weak and not cold. Then around like 2-3 AM it starts blowing hard and cold air.

Nest thermostats are pieces of crap, you will be changing it sooner or later to another manufacturer. And they all need a common wire it does not matter what the manufacture says.
@nikolin785 ай бұрын
Why you only have 4 wires connected to your thermostat
@robert619826192 ай бұрын
Bro you have no idea really what you're talking about. You are right about the common wire and that is it. Thermostats can function without a common but it's definitely not ideal and can lead to non-functionality
@jonathanaustin88412 ай бұрын
Thermostat functioned fine. Compressor didn’t. Power draw was too much. Tech agreed. Old thermostat didn’t have this problem because it ran off of AA batteries. This thermostat draws power from the unit itself. Multimeter verified. Hence the problem. Appreciate the commentary though. 👍

Guys, I want to change/increase my default Max temp range (currently 90) on the same nest shown on this video. Please advise if there's a way to do that? Thanks
