I agree. The game has been soule built around questing so, having quests that are built around nesting would make sense and would definitely fit the games style. Personally I would like see more path of titans videos on this channel. You clearly have an interest in the game but, you don't cover the game enough....but that's just my opinion. I know your channel is mainly for the isle content..which I don't mind, but with path of titans and isle being the two most talked about survival games at the moment and the two games a lot of seem to always compare again, I think more path of titans videos would be very welcome.

My idea for nesting is that people who get nested either get increased growth or passive growth, it would not only give a reason to nest, but it would also make destroying nests more important so you don't have competition
@stonlaner5780 Жыл бұрын
The idea is interesting, my main issue is if PoT can make an AI that smart to say listen to a parent or know what to do with danger rsther then run in a straight line like critters. Also itd be a little unfair for carnis in that many POIs to get a "hunt _" quest since it gives the herbis away when their probably trying to keep their nest and babies hidden, maybe if you get in a certain raidus of them you get the quest but idk

@@SHAZZZZZA that has nothing to do at all, even if both are called "IA". The only difficulty to make NPCs in online games is performance implications when calculating all their actions, like collision detections, paths calculations based on terrain, other NPCs and players detection etc. This is not a problem in offline game as this is done by your pc, so the impact in performance is very low. But in online games this need to be done by the server. The best example that comes in mind is GTA V. If you played it, have you noticed when in offline mode, the world is full of NPCs , but when playing online there are only few NPCs?

Nesting could work where you could turn ai dinosaur hatchlings or nesting all together on/off depending on the server. It could be a quest if you have a male and a female in your group. It will also bring the hatchling growth stage to the main game, and adult dinosaurs will get marks if they help grow their hatchings to adolescent/sub-adult. Adult dinosaurs getting marks for doing this will incentivize them for actually caring for their young, and to help improve the realism aspect of the game via making players want to make their species prosper and make their “bloodline” the most successful one. A new quest that can come out of it is for other creatures of the same species to hunt and kill the babies to make their “bloodline” the more successful one. Overall, this is a very intriguing idea for PoT that I can’t wait to see in the future

I think nesting has the main purpose of controlled spawnign location. In the Isle you have spawn regions, which is why nesting is kinda pointless atm. If you wanna play with your friends you can just all spawn in northwest and meet up within less than 10 minutes. In Path you have no control over where you spawn plus the map is bigger, so being able to all spawn together hrough a nest would be beneficial.

@BlackJack-kv3ck Жыл бұрын
Hey Zaguer, huge fan of your videos. I just wanted to suggest a topic, which is the Chat in the isle. Maybe other people will also agree, that the chat in legacy was way better than in evrima. When I played in legacy I made friends almost instantly, because there was always someone talking in global, you could read egg invites and find people to play, while also socializing between any dino. Meanwhile in Evrima the fact you only chat with local it feels way lonelier, I can't also see other players and send invites by searching their name tag, and even see where they are because if they go too far away or I enter with a friend but we spawn in deferent areas we can't know where we are in relation to one another. I just think the global chat and group should be brought back to Evrima as well as being able to see the server players. For a game that relies a lot on waiting or forming groups to hunt and survive it is very limited in Evrima and I think a big part of the fun was the socialization aspect of the game. In my experience Evrima gets very boring since I can't ask for an invite or chat with other players, or see if people are offering eggs to join and it's mostly surviving alone until you find someone, but if you drift to far away they disappear and you can't talk to them. Big part of the fun of legacy was/is the socialization aspect and I think Evrima is eliminating this.

Honestly I think they could get people to nest by the parents veing able to teach their young a skill while still young they'd normally get a higher growth stage. Or mabye inherite one of their parents skins that theyy can only use for that certain dino character, and if they change it they lose it. I know people 100% would do it just for those reasons.
@rfurlongfire Жыл бұрын
once AI dinosaurs are added and If they can nest, single player might actually be fun to play, as you wouldn't have to worry about a bunch of KOS players. If thats the case for single player, maybe if you make a dinosaur you get spawned into a nest from the AI dinos and each Dino has a couple starting populations which grow over the amount of time that the world is running, and the carnivores keep the herbi population in check. Mods could also be added to your world to make it feel less empty in some parts.

If each ai was also equiped with simple personality trait this could be a super complex and amazing system!

Love the idea and all the other commenters' expansions, but nesting seems over expanded compared to hunting, foraging and movement quests. What I can think of to solve that problem is: hunting specific creature quests, a system of hunting other carnivores in your area, a system of being 'peckish' randomly rarely and commonly during the pregnancy stage, where you have to eat really out of the way things, Foraging for your young, foraging more things in more areas, a digging system like for dens but for roots and vegetables, Moving to certain areas before you can make a nest (which would increase carnivores in those zones, making them natural hotspots, and specific areas for specific creatures so there's no rexes next to kangaroo nests) and of course, we need some kind of multi-species mix packs that are allowed, EG, no trikes and stegos but paras and lambios are fine. Your videos are good stuff, btw.

@kraftykaty6287 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry its such a long comment, I've had these ideas for quite a while so this is the perfect spot for them! I think that when nesting you possibly get the adult's skins when they nested you, say a melanistic allo and a hooded allo nest together, you're most likely too get the hooded allos skin then the mela skin, but theres still a chance. There should also be a possibility for you too get the default skin because its the base skin, say around 45% for it, 45% for the hooded skin, and only 10% for the mela skin in this situation. The skins wont be pure copy and paste of the adults' either, its gunna be randomized. I don't think this will be too hard for them too do because they already have the randomize skin option. Oh, and also this would be the same with the subspecies, say the mela allo was speed build and the hooded allo was defense build, the offspring would then get a possibility for any subspecies since theres still the balanced one by default. And gender would be randomize by default too, well with the subspecies change available in game already, and gender too, if someone isn't happy with either. Say I got nested in and I got defense and male, so I quested a bit too get speed build and female. With the addition of the "feed _____" quest being added I feel that could be specifically for the young when nesting, giving the parents and other groupmates too want too feed them. That would also add too the realism and make it so the adults dont nest in the babies and ditch them because they got the reward already. I also say that if a child dies, (when in hatchling stage-adolescent stage in group and nested by the 2 parents) the adults should both get around 100 marks lost, it's not an insane amount but still gunna be a roadblock for adults that want a new skin or too swap their gender/subspecies. Another cool thing too add would be passive growth when the young is within a certain radius of the parents, or something like the well rested buff where quests do more growth reward. This of course could be tweaked a bit in the sever stats. There could also be a debuff if the young are abandoned similar too the homecave debuff, just not as strong. Say the mela and hooded allos werent great parents and abandoned em, the children would then get that debuff making them take slightly increased damage for about 10 minutes after they have been abandoned. That isn't the best idea here but still possible incentive too make the adults wanna stay and the young more dependent on the adults' presence. There could also be a nesting site for certain dinos, say allo needs too nest in Titans Pass too get more marks. They don't need to go there too nest but the boosted marks would make them want to. I also think that if the young are nested in that area they could get like 24 hours of passive growth till they reach adolescent (24 hours too reach adolescent without any quests) too help them grow a bit quicker.
@DeadMaple88 Жыл бұрын
I hope they make nesting and the game in general in a way that it would solve the mix packing problem KoS'ing everything they see. This game would be so much better if they gave players a reason to protect each other. Currently, you can never feel safe around adult herbs as another herb, they may just kill you for sport because they have NO reason not to, other than protecting their quest area from being emptied with resources. For carni's it's a bit different since they depend on meat, so you basically never feel safe around them. You never know who's hungry, or kill for sport. Once, me and my buddy tried to help an adult rex getting attacked by 3 Patchy's, me using my Desp and the boost rexes roar. Even when turning the back to the rex to fight of patchy's (lagging all over the place as they always do 😪) the rex chose to attack us as well every now and then, making us worry more about our health than staying offensive. Can't really say I have any good solution for it, but I wish they at least would encourage staying with your own "species" and that it would be beneficial. And maybe nesting could be a solution for this. It would create another problem however. There will be even less solo players, and they would stand even less chance to survive alone as others group up. Already a problem as it is. Players seem to choose the strongest dinos, team up, and just wreck havock for fun ( usually attacking solo players for a easy "win" ) All in all, great game, but matching reality with a game like this is a hard nut to crack to make it enjoyable for all dinos. Make it realistic and 99% of players choose the strongest dinos to not be at a disadvantage, and diversity goes down the drain. Make it unrealistic so everyone stands a chance, it takes away the immersion of playing a "realistic" survival game.

This would not work. For one, AI would need to be extremely smart. They would need to make decisions about how they will respond to a threat, and make that response effective. Right now, we have like... AI run in a straight line and run away, even if you are a tiny juvi that they could kill easily. Way too simple. And if this is what we will get as AI herbivores... then they will be easy pickings for carnivore players. Plenty of food. Also, considering there are a LOT more carnivore players than herbivore players on a server... Herbivores would fail their nesting quest most of the time. Not to mention carnivores can just waystone one another back to the location and just keep attacking until the herbivores are all gone. Giving away nesting locations would also backfire. In theory, it sounds good but in reality, it is unviable. Not unless you can somehow raise the amount of herbivores on servers vs carnivores to make something like this even remotely possible.
