Documentary on the anarchist-communist Nestor Makhno who initiated the first self-managed libertarian communes in Ukraine, the free soviets, rather than the one-party to-down statist system then being established in Russia by the Bolsheviks. Looks at how the "Makhnovist" movement sought to establish a Ukraine free of external imperialist rule and of internal class exploitaton and racism. Rare footage.
