If I were lobbying for anything, in the US; I would be lobbying State and Federal politicians to introduce BOTH the laws that have been proposed, by the US Green Party, as well as to introduce preferential voting for US Federal elections. Some US States already have preferential voting. Where I live (Australia), preferential voting means that voters can vote for independent candidates, or smaller Parties and those votes will be reallocated to a nominated candidate, if the smaller Party doesn't receive enough votes to be elected. That system makes voting for smaller Parties "no (or low) risk". It also means that the main Parties must be more alert to voters wishes, as there is always the chance that an Independent will be elected. The current complicity of both main US Parties is, as I and many others see it, a liability to the security and wellbeing of too many people - including US citizens. I think that possibly; US citizens might not be aware of how unpopular their successive governments have been making the US, in many parts of our world? I really feel that it's in US citizens' own interest to work to bring what is one of the most inspiring Constitutions and democratic forms of government, back to what it's founders intended it to do. That is: to be government OF the People, BY the People, FOR the People.
