Been there several times, and the best luck I had was when I just said "eff this" and got fully submerged, dug around in the sand under the water line, especially around the patches of seaweed/seagrass and pulled up a lot of nice clams/cockles. Found it was much easier and have been meaning to go back with a snorkel and a wetsuit ever since. It didn't seem deep enough for scuba and I'm not sure the clams hang out that deep either. But this video is encouraging!

Dude this is awesome, great stuff. I just moved to the coast last year and I really want to try dive fishing. Any starter tips?

Trevor, are you a certified diver already?

Mr. Steeeeyagi, I am not, but I would like to be prior to any serious dives. I lived on a sail boat for a while and had to dove under to scrub and clean it regularly. Ever since then I’ve wanted to get more involved in diving, I’ve just been hesitant to go out solo and wing it. I live near pacific city. Do you know any instructors you can recommend?
