very nice! i just recently tryed to do something similar. But I got one thing different: the plot doesn't auto-resize when I resize the "frame" (JDialog in my case) dragging the borders. The difference in the code (apart from using an XYPlot instead of a pie one) is that i didnt use setContentPane(chartPanel) but i created a JDialog, I added a JPanel inside it, and I added the chartPanel inside the JPanel. Looking at your tutorial it is clear your approach is faster and cleaner but (just out of curiosity) what exactly makes my plot un-resizable? Can i fix it with something simple? Next time I will not stop at the first example I find on the web and look for a tutorial of yours first : )
