I don’t like monikers either, but I also think the answer to a single question can reveal quite a bit, and it has zero to do with how long they’ve been a fan: When you found Star Wars, did you want to learn more about its lore, stories, and characters…and to share it with others; Or did you see it as something that needed to be improved?

I can see where you are coming from with that. However, I would say that both types are still fans. Whether or not you are going to agree with their goals and motives is a very separate thing however.

@@NetCatMedia That’s fair, but I would argue the latter is more a fan of the platform the IP provides (and wishes it to be reshaped accordingly), than of Star Wars. Pretty much, I think there is more nuance to the conversation. My $.02. 🤷🏻♂️

@@jadenkorr32 oh, there is definitely more nuance to the discussion, and many of the people that I may defend their right to be called fans, may in fact be detrimental to the Fandom as a whole. But I remain convinced that calling people fake fans is counterproductive to discourse, and insulting to people who honestly enjoy things that we might disagree on.
