or you can simply write ( sudo netdiscover ) this command will flood with ARP requests faster and you will get the IP you looking for. nice video :)

if im using a virtual machine IPconfig says wired network. Only shows one device.

You might need a wifi adaptor, or install the os as your main

Perhaps you've set your Network settings to "public network"
