The first scene is the Air Bender Genocide. Monk Gyatso is narrating. And the island at the end is Kyoshi island. Notice Kyoshi's statue at the left hand side.

Nice catches! It gives off vibes on One Piece Live Action quality, but of course it's too early to tell. Hope is alive though

Watched the trailer for the first time with you. I got good vibes from all of it except Ang. I too have good memories of watching this with others for the first time as an adult. I think the gold is in the characters and the relationships. I agree with what someone else said, needs time to breathe.

Yeah and while the trailer looks good and promising, it is an indication but not proof it'll be good. But I sincerely hope it is ❤️

I pretend the live action Airbender movie doesn't exist, but...this looks much more promising. I hope that they're true to the martial arts element of the bending. I'm going to be really picky, though, because ATLA was SO freaking good. Just...so, SO good. With how short everything is these days (fewer eps in a season, fewer seasons, etc) I'm worried the show won't have time to actually breathe... But if they can give it that character-driven depth the original had, I'll be impressed. I'm certainly VERY happy that Katara and Sokka are played by actual First Nations (Mohawk)/Native American (Cherokee) actors. It's a little worrying that the original cartoon creators left the adaptation, but... Well, I'll wait and see. Speaking of the phrase "wait and see," have you ever watched Good Omens?

Yeah, we're not home free yet! But it's a good teaser for sure. Looking up! Haven't seen good omens yet but been meaning to for ages!

@ I think that the show is fantastic. It needs a season 3, but Neil Gaiman has promised to write it as a book if he can't get it produced as a show, so we won't be left hanging. I wonder if we should livestream some shows together on a patreon or something so that we can all watch together, haha.

The "creative difference" is that supposedly this show will have at least a few love scenes. The creators said, "It's a kid show that shouldn't be there", No, it's not a kid's show. It's a teenager's show. That had some material you would find in a kid's show. But the themes and the plot are clearly not for small kids. It deals with war, genocide, colonialism, and loss. To name but a few things that most kids in first world countries wouldn't understand. Those are pretty mature themes. And no offense to the creators, but they're kinda being hypocritical getting triggered about it. This is a show where teenagers who have raging hormones. Who are out into the world doing whatever they want. With zero parental supervision. You really think they aren't doing stuff that their parents wouldn't approve of? Case in Point : in the cartoon it's insinuated that Sokka and Suki were having sex. They were sharing the same tent. And Zuko walks in on a half naked Sokka with a rose in his mouth. Being all romantic for Suki. And Ty Lee.......self explanatory. Toph was a single mother in Korra who had daughters from two different fathers. Which a few years ago would have been too controversial for a cartoon. You can't tell me people weren't getting laid in Avatar : The Last Airbender or Legend of Korra. As a matter of fact, sex is a common element in the Avatar Universe because of Romance. The characters at some level always fall in love with someone. Or in the case of Avatar Kuruk, he slept around a lot. Kyoshi is insinuated to be having sex with her girlfriend and bodyguard Rangi. Or Kyoshi's water bending Master Kirima saying that she once "kicked a fire bender out of her bed". Because he kept going on and on about honor. So that's even openly stated there. Hell even Monk Kelsang her Adopted Father, said a nasty song in the first book about jumping into bed with a somebody. They have sex. They just soften it up somewhat to be considered "acceptable". They don't show it on camera. But it's there. It's highly insinuated. Netflix is just being honest. Instead of tip toeing around it. Twinkle toes style.
