Just think, we are probably the only country on Earth, where film makers have to worry about releasing the same movie in 5-10 different languages and still keep the soul of the movie intact. Appreciate the fact that we are subconsciuosly so open-minded about experiencing languages/cultures we have no idea about! In No other country people have this unique quality! I watched kantara in Kannada with subtitles and never felt i was any different from any of those villagers in the movie! 🇮🇳🙏

Kantara was a good film before climax, like it was film that we like watching, it included comedy, a bit of horror and the face off between shiva and murali, but it became a masterpiece after the climax, the way they shot the camera angles, the goosebumps in the guliga climax scene, his performance in the last 15 -20 mins is enough for a movie, the reason people liked it was, it came out of expectation, like in the start you must have have the predicted the antagonist but the director diverted it from the topic by bringing guliga dev there, so it kept on changing people's perspective after twists, now that is how a movie should be totally unexpected

I will never understand why this movie is considered a masterpiece. It was pretty average actually if we separate the element of Bhoota kola from it. The theme is nature vs humans and tribal way of life vs govt and infra development. Many other movies have been made on similar themes. Recently bhediya was also made on the same theme. The beginning and the end of the movie are exceptional but the majority of the movie in the middle feels really stretched and dragged. Kudos to the director for handling so many other jobs like acting, writing etc together but the end product was pretty average. If this movie didn't have Bhoota kola concept, I would've left it after 1 hour.
