I’m not embarrassed to say that I totally fell in love with him as Edward in the Twilight movies, but I was always more interested to see what he was going to do after the franchise wrapped. I was absolutely delighted to see him go in the direction of working with film auteurs like David Cronenberg , David Michôd, and Claire Denis. He definitely took the road less traveled for a young bankable actor with leading man good looks, and I’m so happy that he did. I cannot wait to see his take on Batman/Bruce Wayne; I think it’s going to be phenomenal.

Concerning Twilight, people need to read the source material. Whether you loved the movies or hated them, Rob and Kristen portrayed what was on the page perfectly. Both of them are good actors and deserve more credit.
@candidesque64704 жыл бұрын
Miss Priss That‘s what I wanted to say! You can’t just sway basically all teens all over the world in your favor overnight without being a good actor. He did a great job, as did Kristen and the rest, and I‘m so sad they don‘t talk about the experience more proudly. Twilight, whether you hate or love it, absolutely shaped the social culture everywhere. I‘m really excited to see Robert in more movies and shows, and I am tremendously excited for his Batman!
@natechenry4 жыл бұрын
@@candidesque6470 I don't think twilight shaped anything. One of those books that should have never been adapted into movies like the diary of a wimpy kid. Twilight I think inspired 50 shades which is why Robert was at one point called in for 50 shades as well. He belongs as the batman. Plus cedric diggory was a much better book portrayal for him. Yes, Robert was the best part of twilight, just the films themselves should have never been made
@candidesque64704 жыл бұрын
LifeOfNate I respectfully disagree. I‘ve never cared for the whole books vs. movies debate. To me they are completely different entities and should be judged differently. I like the movies, and like I said, I think all the actors fit in their roles well. Does the series have flaws? Sure. All pieces of entertainment do. The movies were visually pretty, the soundtrack was good and the actors made it fun. In their time, the movies did actually shape the landscape of how we perceive movies. Most people you talk to know about Twilight whether only to make fun of it. It’s such a cornerstone of movie history, like it or not. It is one of the most famous vampire movies ever, and it shaped how many people perceive vampires. Personally, I don’t love the movies and I spend my time making fun of them if I ever watch them, but I will give them their credit in our societal movie history. *Many* rip-offs in the supernatural genre came into life thanks to the popularity of Twilight. Variations of the genre like 50 Shades came out of it too. As much as I dislike those movies, 50 Shades did a really similar thing to the Twilight movies. It also had a huge impact on pop culture. I’m just giving credit where credit is due. I don’t have to think a movie is brilliant, but I have to recognize it’s importance.

Actually I think it is a mixture of both. It has always been a way to deal with his anxiety but I really get the feeling that it got ways better in the last years (with the end of the Twilight craziness, finally being able to choose freely what he wants to do and how he wants to do it - and with age) and that nowadays it's mainly just him being his genuine weirdo self having fun. The anxiety, nervousness and self-consciousness is still there (will probably always be) simmering beneath the surface (constantly having his hands in his hair for example) but it rarely seems to be so incredibly crippling any more. He seems not so tense but more relaxed now most of the time. He mainly seems happy and seems to really enjoy his life and the artistic and creative freedom he finally has. And that's all that counts - at least for me. He deserves it, he really does.

Anyone that really likes the way this interview is set up as well? Their conversation was so natural and real, not filmed in a studio with perfect lighting and a script and a director and stuff. It’s just a zoom call and a conversation between them, just naturally flowing, with imperfections, this is so much better than interviews in professional settings. I love this. It makes celebrities so much more human and approachable, and relatable. I hope this format is gonna stay after the virus is over! No need for a perfect studio with everything set up perfectly. This is much more fun and also low pressure for the person being interviewed! You can really sense that!

So, he really doesn't have his character confidence until the shoot starts, feels adrenaline and edgy and nervous before the shoot? This guys living a truth in acting that is beyond even method acting. Method acting and character shading are processes that are meant to refine the explorative process..... he seems to be the antithesis .... He finds truth in literally letting it " just happen"..... Brilliant young actor. He and Shia are the best of their generation .

As someone who’s struggled with religion- and those in power in it- this character really struck home with me. Entire cast was phenomenal but this character really stuck out for me. Absolutely brilliant in this role. So creepy, so sadistic. His voice alone gave me chills and kept me on edge every time he was on screen. Amazing portrayal. 👏 👏 👏

His voice and how he talks as a person is just so sweet, he sounds so full of emotion and like he knows himself well. He’s just calm and his demeanor is beautiful. This video he’s in is one of my favorites. I started wondering how I could talk with the same vibe and the same sweetness. However I soon realized, Rob is his own self.I’m my own self. People(like me) love him for how he is because it’s his natural ways, so why am I trying to be like someone else? Why wouldn’t my friends and family love me for me, why would I need to change how I talk just to make me sound like someone else I like? If I’m not being my natural honest self it’s going to look fake, I’ll just love myself for who I am, how I talk and accept the fact that others love how I sound just as me. I’m not making any sense. Omg. Have a good day lol I’m gonna go now and quit talking about random crap. I love this man though.

I'm so grateful for the Safdie Brothers insight and casting. If I hadn't seen Good Time when it was released it may have been that much longer till I recognized Pattinson as the brilliant chameleon actor he is! Good Time, The Rover, Cosmopolis, The Lighthouse, Tenet, The Devil All The Time . . . Probably forgetting one or two, but goddamn is he impressive! I love discovering that an actor who was previously known for doing one "not so well respected" type of work, is now at the top of their game & killing it in the best projects at the moment. I had a similar moment of acknowledgement and reassessment with Colin Farrell a few years back.

When he was casted as Batman, I was truly happy because he is such a great actor. Then I had my doubts due to his not-so-bulky complexion, but guess what? I don't give a damn now, he will knock it out of the park. Good acting + writing >>> bulky actors
@stilllife3214 жыл бұрын
True, i mean i like Ben Affleck, he was the best in term of looks, his acting also okay yet its not really help the overall movie he was in. Pattinson maybe not as big as him but he has acting chops to give a great performance and he also still sell his physicality with his fighting convincingly despite what everyone been afraid of he cant (at least in the trailer). I think writing+directing+performance are the combination of good movie.
