I got the pro 2 about two months ago, and we are very happy with this one. The first one we got was the swan brand because it was on sale, but when the guy came to put it up for us he told us that we would not like this. So we decided to bring it back and get the arlo pro 2. We are just happy with this caught some washing there bike at 3am in are drive way.

Nice to get a great review of the Arlo. There are silicon skins/covers for the cameras too so that they arn't as visable from the street.

Fyi for anyone using the outdoor arlo power cable, I just received a message from Amazon saying they have been having issues with them getting moisture in them and causing all sorts of issues from shorting out, not charging or overheating. No word on a recall yet but they basically said to stop using it.

What am I doing wrong..? I get 1 day to 5 days. My camera is facing the street so vehicles may activate camera. What settings do I need to change? I have camera off and no notices. I can’t find sensitivity option. Hank you for the video

I have been using this for a few months......My findings. Would want this mounted undercover, wouldn't want it rained on. Battery life with dogs and cats, and birds will be about 3mos or less, this is outside. Racoons too. Strongly suggest extra batteries, as taking them all down and charging can be a all day process. And thats just with 2, can you imagine if you had like 4 or 5 cameras? Last do not recommend the magnet mount outside. Some bum can swat it down and there goes your $200 camera. I bought the tri-pod mounts. As long as you dont have internet issues, I agree with the review, this thing is solid. Also dont wait for the camera to record the footage, bums and thieves are fast, as soon as you get a notification run to the window and look, that is if your at home. If your at work or out....well shitty deal.

I have the Arlo Pro 2 and Ive had them for 15 days. One of my cameras is at 45% and the others are around 74%. Cameras are set to optimized and I've only had the motion detection on for 5 of the 15 days. The 47% is my driveway. None of my camera's are in high traffic areas. Looks like you get a month before having to change batteries.

It does not record to the base. It's cloud based. If you lose internet access these cameras are rendered useless. You can add a backup drive but this cant be accessed from the website or mobile app. It must be disconnected and connected to a PC.

Cameras lose sync after power outage - every time. If it happens early in the day while i'm at work, i have the rest of the work day without my cameras working. if it happens while i'm sleeping, i'd go the whole night without my cameras working. the cameras should re-sync automatically after the base station has power restored. it's a faulty program, plain and simple. Still hoping they update the base station to fix this completely. Show less REPLY

I have this system with the 720p camera's. I mounted one on my mailbox looking up driveway to catch the license plate number on the Porch Pirates cars. The feed from the camera is good but was too grainy to make out the plate numbers. Changed to a 1080p camera that was a little better. The issue maybe distance from the base but I don't think that will improve picture quality.

the drawback with this camera is that you cant use it with a 4g network or mifi router, for example, a thief can shut your power down and by pass your cameras, using a powerbank pass through type will allow the cameras to continue feeding to a sim card type router with battery as well.

I have had this Arlo 4 camera system over a year now! For $ 800 WHY do they not include a battery charger? So if you have a extra battery you don't have to pull your camera down to charge your battery. Also if you have high foot traffic and pets you might get 2 weeks out of the battery! Also IMPORTANT if your internet goes out you lose all camera feeds until you reset the base unit power of then on again! Also you can not filter out zones if you have trees or bushes blowing in the wind a battery killer! Feel free to ask me other questions! I feel this system is for some on who cant really drill holes in there home or apt. for any reason or you have the need to really move a camera around room to room.

You said one thing that was a bit confusing regarding the geofencing. I believe you mentioned that it works best if one person lives in the house. Does that mean it's easily confused by multiple residents? Does it use the app on the cell to know who's coming and going? The geofencing is one of the things my current Canary system does well, but the abysmal battery life and $149 yearly fee is making it harder to justify keeping it.

"What if someone takes your camera"..This is the biggest problem with this system. The magnetic mount however cool is not secure unless its way out of reach. If you can walk up and pick an apple off a tree you can do the same to this camera. As a matter of fact this camera in an easy to reach place makes it a target of theft! These cameras are $179.00 a piece and people do steal them and resell them for $50.00. Go to Craigslist and do a search on this camera and you will see! Get the secure indoor / outdoor mount and some loctite for the mounting threads. This will secure your camera nicely.

Having problem using my (new) iPhone X and this camera systems software. The audio does not work (talking through to camera)(yes, I allowed the software to use my microphone). At first I thought it was a problem with the Arlo. But the audio(microphone) does work fine, on my iPhone 6S, iPad, and Mac Computer. Therefore, it appears to me, they need to upgrade Arlo's software to work with the iPhone X. The video works fine on this phone, but not the audio. And if I were to return a product for NOT working, it definitely would NOT be the iPhone X! Netgear, FIX YOUR SOFTWARE!!!

The two way audio is lacking in volume on the camera. I can hear what is going on outside but the volume is so low on the arlo camera, it is almost impossible to hear. Do you have any suggestion to remedy this problem?

The only big cons with any Arlo product is that the camera can not be live stream 24/7 non-stop like surveillance camera. If you need to constantly monitor your dogs or the front driveway for the ups guy, not gonna happen. Arlo will send you alerts but the time you login in and start the camera will take too long where you will miss something. Arlo is a capturing camera and NOT a surveillance camera thought the company make you believe it is. If you turn on the feed it will timed out about 30 mins. and log you out of the system. Many consumers complain about this 24/7 lack feature and yet the company ignore it and kept quiet about the reason why they would not allow continuous live streaming.

Carlos Martinez I think they have motion zones now, so you can block out problem areas like trees or whatever. Although I don't see why they can't just upgrade the regular arlo pro to offer the same feature.

Mine stopped syncing after 3 days. Never could get them to sync again. I never put them outside because they are so easy to detach from the base that someone can just come up and pluck them off.

Netgear's Arlo camera system is a wireless mess. I used 7 cameras since 2015 just for test purposes and they literally suck. Any consumer who relies on a wireless or WiFi security system and trusts it to be their eyes and ears for vandals, burglars etc. are rolling the dice with the odds stacked worse against them than any casino odds. Using them in an outdoor setting sucks. Trigger response, recording delays, upload to the cloud delays all plagued by what a REAL DEAL security system is and is used for, PERIOD! The base station signal output is not worth the money spent on the system. Having to add boosters everywhere in a structure (incur more costs) just so the crummy cameras can receive it is another downfall. Video plain and simple drains any type of batteries on these cameras or any other types even without any wireless exchange. Increase the video record duration (10 seconds is nonsense record time for any thief capture) and you have a straight up battery hog. Now factor in the wireless signal draw so the cameras and base station can communicate and your result is battery buying or recharging the NiMh on a regular short term basis. Rechargeable batteries only have so many recharge cycles before they are worthless. See how much the NiMh rechargeables are for those crummy Arlo's OR how much the Energizer Ultimate Lithium CR123 (the best out there) batteries are that adds to the cost of operating these worthless novelty items. This is just a tip of the iceberg concerning how lousey of a security system they really are. Many of the cameras I tested had issues on their own with the cut filters screwing up resulting in the "pink eye" syndrome when you see what the camera recorded. Those pink vision cameras have to be sent back to Netgear or replaced by you if their out of warranty. The customer support number from Netgear has some chumps wanting to scan through your computer to see what you have installed for a bluff why the cameras aren't working correctly while they gather your information when you allowed them to access your pc. Don't do that. Think of these cameras like law enforcement. Would you call a crackhead for help or a law enforcement officer if you had some sort of security breach? That answer is pretty simple so don't waste your time and hard earned money on this or any other wireless / WiFi security system. This is how you determine if you screwed yourself buying a security camera system... Did you..... choose price over quality OR did you...... choose quality over price? The latter is the best choice option. Buying a cheap priced security system is like stopping a clock to save time! Don't bother wasting your time with this novelty junk, PERIOD!

Try to check your internet speed and devices connected to your network. You need to have a good upload speed too, not just download.
