Netgear Nighthawk R6700 | How To Configure Port Forwarding

Eric shows you how to configure port forwarding on your Netgear Nighthawk R6700 gaming router.
First assign a static IP address to your gaming machine. It will prevent you from having to constantly change your port forwarding settings if your IP changes due to DHCP.
You will want to create a separate rule for TCP and UDP settings.

On the gaming pc, you changed from a dynamic ip address to a static ip after you setup your netgear router? Then you can do the port forwarding, are these the correct steps?

so the TCP one worked great... then i go to do UDP and it comes up and says "The specified port(s) are being used by other configurations. Please check your configurations of Remote Management, Port forwarding, Port Triggering, UPnP Port Mapping table, RIP, and Internet connection type"

yes im having same problem, each box only accepts 1 number, chatgpt is saying to just create separate entries for each individual port (separated by commas) and do another entry just for each of the ranges (denoted by a hyphen). Idk it seems weird they'd make it more complicated over time

Thank you for the video however, when I type in my udp, it is xxxx, xxxx-xxxx. It then comes out to xxxx-xxxx, xxxx-xxxx even though that is not what I put. It is multiplying the first number more than once and I can't seem to figure out why.

Should be the same numbers entry and ending are the same at least for Xbox/PS gaming

It says my port numbers for UPD are currently in use so what are my options now. I'm trying for a nitendo switch and there's only one value for Mario Cart. It's 1-65535. First it tells me it has to be less than 65535, so I put 65530 and it says that their already in use for another application. Someone help

Upnp may already be doing it for you and in turn won't let you enter those values. If you turn it off it will probably let you add it but I would read about upnp for more info.
