But is there a way to do "router ONLY mode" ?? I have fiber internet now, but I still want to use this as my router.. So I want to disable the modem side of this netgear and only use the router portion as a swtich/ router/ wifi, etc... But I noticed that none of the ports say "WAN".. They all say LAN, so I'm not sure if it would even work?? it doesn't look like they designed it to work as a router only

I disabled the DhCP on my second router. I'm having a hell of a time. It's not connecting. All for the meta 3. Ready to start tossing shit or even worse call geek squad lol

Might be helpful for some to mention "If ya never had a password to start... then username is "admin" and password is "admin". It's the default login for Archer.

This is setting up an access point. There is no explanation why you would connect the second "router" by the lan port vs the wan port. Eric is still going to have access to Daddy's Porn folder.

Followed your instructions on this disabled dhcp second router works fine however for some reason the games consol wont connect to the internet (hard wired) to main router all other ethernet devices work fine which are on the main router through a network switch i switch off second router games consol works fine. used only for wifi by the way. I am assuming there is either an ip conflict or I've got some number mixed up when i set up the second router any ideas thanks in advance.

Great Video! I upgraded my main router to WiFi 6, but I still had a few hosts that were not WiFi 6 compatible. What to do? The solution is to interface an old router as explained in the video and use its WiFi 5 transceiver to interface to these old hosts. In other words, a Wifi 5 access point was added.

Its was switching to the other network especially at night.

But what do you do when the factory reset isn't clearing device cache and setting login credentials to default lol? What do you do when you can't manually enter setup wizard? Throw it away lol? And no. I don't have a nighthawk. Just a netgear. I'm not rich. Can't afford a 300 dollar router.

Does the second router have to be wired to the primary? Once set up is complete, can the second router now work completely wireless without the Ethernet cable between the two routers?

Why don't you just put the Linksys "router" into bridge mode which turns it into an access point and prevents DHCP conflicts and ensures that clients on the Linksys can see/share resources such as file and print share with clients on the Netgear, and vice versa?
