First 10 minutes the US did have confidence and tried to take it to the Dutch. That confidence went out of the window after the Dutch hit them on the counter, and the US suddenly realised the Dutch had let them dominate the game. I saw and read many American previews that talked about how the Dutch wanted possession and make the game and how the speed of American players would be key against the Dutch. But the Dutch have been playing a different game for a while now. Soaking up pressure and hitting on the counter with speed and technical combinations.

I love the USA women's team, from last year to this day I have not missed any of their matches, and as for their men's team, I see that they still lack a level so that they can reach a semifinal of the cup world, greetings from Peru

Semi Final? In football anything is possible, but in a tournament where the teams are made up of the BEST PLAYERS in the world it is quite difficult. I don't know if Americans are aware of the size of world men's football, USMNT is amateur compared to the rest of the world. The size of the USMNT challenge is much bigger than the US WOMEN TEAM. Finally, now with the investment of Europeans in women's football at club level, now the American women's team will start to have a real challenge.

I really love the show! I wish we could hear more of Ali’s perspective as player/coach included, though. I loved the bits of Ashlyn as a #2 as well, because that role isn’t often taken into consideration. Would love more balance on the talking too because sometimes it feels like Ashlyn is doing a little too much and suffocating Ali. But great job to everyone involved!

I agree, Ashlyn is talking way too much and it's kind of disrespectful that she keeps talking over Ali and interrupting her and Ali is barely able to get a word in. And even when Ali has made a comment about it, Ashlyn just blows her off and continues to talk the majority of the time. If she wanted to do the podcast by herself she should've said so

@@just.salma1583 Out of curiosity I timed it and Ali talk for about 13 minutes and Ash 15 minutes. It’s more balanced than people said. Ash just talk more loudly and in a animated way so it give that impression but the comment about Ash wanting to do it alone is a little too « internet overreacting » to me.

Enjoyed the podcast , your calm commentary quality reasoning. Soccer is a game of space and time. The Dutch did not allow the US to build up from the back as usual, the center defenders had to make decisions , while the midfielders were man marked from the halfway line. Less space and time to operate and more likely for mistakes. On the offensive third of the field the US need lots of improvement individually and collectively. If you watch the dutch most of the time they advance the ball to the opposing back line, a cross away from the goalkeeper and upcoming teammates or do combination plays or one vs one. I think the US need to keep this coach because of the chosen system of play, but to get to the next level I like to see Arne Slot of Feyenoord standing next to Greg . I also think the US woman team could also benefit from Sarina Wiegman. ,keep it up

Realy the USA was the worst team at the worldcup besides Qatar , 2 goals , 1 shot on target against wales a team relegated from the nations league , 1 shot on target against england also a team relegated from the nations league . and scoring 1 goal and collapsing of exaustion against a team never scoring more than 2 goals in a world cup tournament. And the US thinks they had a chance to win from the dutch or let alone the world cup . they where Awfull. A manager that was awfull as a player playing 2nd tier football most of his carreer . only moved on of free transfers and early releases as beeing useless . setting up a team like they did back in the 60s . against a team and nation that are born in to 4-3-3 and 3-4-3 . created total football, Using players that wouldnt even be considerd in a top 48 list of players .for a national team selection in any footballing nation . Claiming they have the best midfiel is just laughable . thinking they actualy had a chance against a dutch team that doesnt rely on strikers or forwards to score . as on average they have 9 to 10 different goalscorers and score over 12 to 15 goals a tournament . And what is the real zinger the world noticed the USA and will be a force in 2026 . No the world did not notice the USA for its good football it noticed incompetence , every tournament same song next tournament we will be beating top 10 teams. Nations that still use numbers for postitions are amateurs and children stuck in the pre 90s. The USA will play friendlies the next few yeas and get knocked out in the group stage .
