Femke Bol is a great athlete and a lovely person. She runs all the relays for her team even though she is a superstar who could have just focused on her individual event. I was very happy that she had a wonderful comeback performance in the 4x400 relay to wipe off the bad memory of the mixed relay. I wish her and the Dutch athletes the very best.

That was an outstanding race by 3 great teams . Hollywood couldn't write a better script . Femke falling in the mixed, getting Picked up by her team to win her individual gold and then femke pays them back with this tonight. We take on 3 foreign languages at around 12 years of age. Usually English, German and French. You can usually drop 1 or 2, but not all, after 2 years. Most will keep English. The reason of all this is because the Netherlands is small and for business, needs to go outside its borders. Other countries will never teach Dutch, so the Dutch need to adapt. But in my opinion, what helps the most is that everything is subtitled on TV and at the movies. So you hear the actual language and read the translation. Other countries dub over the voices with their own voice actors.

English is taught from a young age here, and what also really helps is that we watch movies etc in English (or other languages) with subtitles, so we get exposed to other languages from an early age. The Dutch tend to start everybody out as multi-sport athletes and specialise them, some sooner rather than later, at least those from the Continental Netherlands, it might be different for those from Curaçao like Bonevacia or Paulina. People like Nadine Visser and Dafne Schippers both started out as heptathletes too. Competitively, Klaver's always been a sprinter, moving from 100 to 200 to 400, but I'd be surprised if she didn't try some of the other disciplines internally.

@halbedejong7963 Жыл бұрын
@hangijzer17 Жыл бұрын
@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 Жыл бұрын
@hangijzer17 Жыл бұрын
