Today's excellent programme provides ample lessons from history for morden political situation in srilanka and elsewhere. Regarding rules and regulations that were based on ethical behaviors of whole civil society and not only on individual behavior.so society as a whole was also responsible for errant behaviors of individuals.the laws were created for psychological behavior modifications of throughout.

මම 20 ගණන්වල සිටින විට, මමත් ලංකා, ඉන්දියානු සහ ආසියානු ඉතිහාසය ඉහළ නංවමින්, හිමිකම් කියමින් සහ අතිශයෝක්තියට නැංවීය. එවිට මම දැනගත්තා සත්‍යය සහ ප්‍රඥාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් තවත් බොහෝ මට්ටම් තිබෙන බව. එක පැත්තකින් බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය පරිපාලනයට ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නිදහස් සෞඛ්‍ය සේවාව බැර කළත්, නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපනයේ ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය යටත් විජිතයේ ඇමතිවරයකුව සිටි දේශීය පුද්ගලයකු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපනයට බැර වීම අරුමයක් නොවේද? ආණ්ඩුව ?? ලන්දේසීන් සහ බ්‍රිතාන්‍යයන් ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ හමුදා සඳහා රෝහල් කිහිපයක් ඉදිකරන ලදී. එම යුගයේ (බොහෝ විට යුරෝපයේ) විද්‍යාත්මක සොයාගැනීම්වලට ඉඩ සැලසීම සඳහා බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ලංකාවේ සෞඛ්‍ය ආරක්ෂණ යටිතල පහසුකම් සංවර්ධනය ආරම්භ කිරීම සඳහා ස්වදේශික දානපති පවුල් තම පුද්ගලික අරමුදල් භාවිතා කළහ. මෙය ළදරු හා මාතෘ මරණ, මැලේරියාව, පෝලියෝ, ටයිපොයිඩ් වැනි රෝග සහ ලොව පුරා තවත් බොහෝ රෝග සඳහා ආමන්ත්‍රණය කිරීමට උපකාරී විය. වෛද්‍ය පර්යේෂණ අංශය/ආයතනය දක්වා පවා විහිදෙන දේශීය දානපති පවුල්වලින් සෞඛ්‍ය හා අධ්‍යාපන ක්ෂේත්‍රය සඳහා දැවැන්ත සහ පුරෝගාමී දායකත්වයක් ලැබිණි. නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපනයේ නිෂ්පාදනයක් වූ කන්නන්ගර එහි පියා ලෙසින් උසස් කොට අතිශයෝක්තියට නැංවීමෙන්, සත්‍ය වශයෙන්ම කමිටු සාමාජිකයන් වන රත්නායක, කුලරත්න ඇතුළු පිරිසගේ සම්පූර්ණ නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපන යෝජනාවට විරුද්ධ වූ නමුත් කමිටු ඡන්දය පිළිගැනීමට සිදු විය. නිදහස් අධ්‍යාපන පනතට බදු ගෙවන්නන්ගේ මුදලින් අරමුදල් සැපයීමට බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ලංකා රාජ්‍ය සභාව ඡන්දය ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. මේ පාසල් ගොඩනැගූ, මුදල් සැපයූ, පවත්වාගෙන ගිය දානපතියන්ට, රාජ්‍යයට, පල්ලියට මෙන්ම අන්‍ය ආගමික ආයතනවලටද අසාධාරණයක් සිදුවී තිබෙනවා නොවේද? අධ්‍යාපන ක‍්‍රමය, සමාජ සංස්කෘතිය, බල දේශපාලනය හරහා සුළු ජාතික ප‍්‍රජාවන් සහ ආගම්වලට අයත් යැයි සැලකෙන මෙම දායකයන් ඉතිහාසයෙන් සඟවා මුලිනුපුටා දැමීම අද දක්වා අප මුහුණ නොදුන් ආකාරයයි. යටත් විජිත රජයේ සේවකයන්ගෙන් පැවත එන, එක කණ්ඩායමක යැයි කියාගත් සම්බන්ධ දේශපාලන පවුල් කිහිපයක්, රැවටිලිකාර මහජනතාවගේ අනුග්‍රහය ඇතිව ශ්‍රී ලංකාව එහි වත්මන් තත්ත්වය වන කටුක යථාර්ථය වෙත යොමු කළේ එලෙසිනි. When I was in my 20's, I too was upping, claiming and exaggerating Lankan, Indian and Asian history. Then I learned that there are many other levels towards the truth and wisdom. Isn't it strange that on the one hand the British administration is credited for free health care in SL, but a local individual is credited for free education in SL, when he himself was a product of free education and a minister of the British colonial government ?? The Dutch and the British built a few hospitals mainly for their forces. It was in fact native philontrophic families that utilised their personal funds to initiate the development of the healthcare infrastructure in British Ceylon to accommodate the scientific discoveries of that era (often in Europe). This helped to address the infant and maternal mortality, diseases like malaria, polio, typhoid and many others around the world. There was an enormous and pioneering contribution to the health and the education sector from local philontrophic families that extends even to the medical research sector / institute. By elevating and exaggerating Kannangara, a product of free education, as the father of it into a cult status, who in fact opposed the complete free education proposition by committee members Ratnayake, Kularatne and others, but had to accept the committee vote. The State Council of British Ceylon voted for the free education bill to be funded from tax payer money. Isn't there is an injustice done to the philanthropists, the state and the church as well as other religious institutions who built, financed and operated these schools. Hiding and eradicating these contributors from history via the education system, social culture, power politics as they are deemed to be from minority communities and religions is how we ended up unfaced till today. That is how a few related political families descending from colonial government servants and claiming to be from one group steered SL with the backing of the gullible public to its current situation, the grim reality.
