Have you tried Nethili sambal a Malaysian dish,normally served with Nasi Lemak together with boiled eggs fried peanuts and nethili, Kangkung @water spinach and sliced cucumber….the difference between this thokku and nethili sambal, no Indian spices added , just ground dried chillies paste , onions, ginger garlic paste, tamarind, sugar & salt and off course dried nethilis are fried and added while cooking this sambal
