LACK OF FULL INTEGRATION IN SALESFORCE - let me explain I would like to add that regardless of where you are coming from - a more sales orientated or supply chain orientated company - in the end you have to get your numbers , do your months/quarter/year end and have a nice base for your analytical tools. However, and yes, I have the view from a NetSuite Solution Provider, over 10 years now I have seen the following: NetSuite: - integrated system for ERP I Accounting I KPIs I Reporting I Controlling I Analytics I CRM/SalesForce Automation I Marketing I Support/Ticketing I Services/Project management I Workflows I API/Interfacing - thousands of additional native or hybrid "SuiteApps" - 1 = ONE database !!!!!! SalesForce - integrated System for CRM - Financial Force: build on the Force Plattform BUT seperate database !!! - Supply Chain: build on the Force Plattform BUT seperate database !!! - etc... - more thousands of apps for each of those functional areas. I am not a super expert in SalesForce but most probably all funtional areas are probably able to speak to each other very well. BUT: any specialiality you create in one of those funtional areas needs to be specifically interfaces to whatever other funtional area you like to have the information in as well. This is my point: you always have to maintain the system because of the lack of full integration. So yes, Eric, you are absolutely right when saying: if you have a robust IT department then you definately need it when going with SalesForce in order to build AND maintain your SalesForce infrastructure. When going with NetSuite you also need NetSuite expertise in house BUT only to build/improve your system NOT to maintain it for the use in different departments.
