I'm in love with people i've never met, and places i have never been. This song makes me feel sad and nostalgic and give me chills. And still makes me miss the time that never existed. And time doesn't exist, i know. It's all a human creation, but.. I miss something. Something i never lived. I miss this relationship i have never been in.

This song always brings me back to sitting on the bus alone in high school, staring outside of the window. I would imagine how my life was going to turn out. I would play this song every morning on that bus and hope for better days. I love this song and how it brings people back to a moment in time. Like our personal little time machine. Wish you all the best. I know others feel a sense of nostalgia when listening.

This is the song I fell in love with my husband. I was verry young like 16 and he was my first love. I met him at a friend's party .Always thought of him since then and whenever I saw him I would feel my heart jumping out my chest. A year before i was going to college he moved in with my best friend in another city because he was a year older than me and he was moving away for college . I would visit them every week and after a while I would just visit him. I would take the train with my last money and sell my art to go to him, not letting him now i was struggling( I wanted to make my own money)but after a while I confessed my love and how much I waited him and how I couldn't date anybody because I couldn't get him out of my mind. He kissed me, I remember like it was yesterday, we started dating and he fell in love with me also. Now we have a beautiful little girl and we are happily married. I really do believe he is part of my soul. I wanted to share my story because it's just so connected to this song. I love it

I was playing this video while I was working for 8 months a job that made me cry in the morning knowing how boring it is to just work for money and experience. Than I could go backpacking in the mountains, have my driving license, seek freedom and travel. Today when watching this video again, i notice i have almost the same deco in my room. The map of the Pyrenees and photos from my adventures all around the map :) i find this hilarious. Depression comes and goes, but there are the small things in between, a beautiful sky, the shape of the moon, the sunshine in summertime, the breeze. There is freedom and there is more.. that's what keeps us alive. I know it's a love song.. but i kind of feel the same when i am in the city, faraway from nature :))

I have suffered from major depression disorder for years. "Comes and Goes" states it as well as I have ever read. It's odd but for whatever reason when it goes you feel better and sometimes a bit stronger before it returns. That is what has sustained me. Knowing that it will go , not dreading it when it comes back. Stay strong, there are people who love you that you will never meet.

Some true words. I can comprehend that. But this song will fade out. Your life goes on. This state of mind will also fade away until the next moment you wake up again and realise that nothing changed since last time. Everytime this thoughts hit me i am so angry about myself. Living this odd life instead of waking up and do at least something to change this mess. Can you tell me why we act this way? I think for me at least im too afraid of leaving all the things i worked so hard for behind and start something new without knowing the end. its fu*king terrifying.

The last time I heard this song was briefly after I felt my mother's life collapse within my palm. I was devastated, and on the verge of drowning in my own tears. After she slipped away into whatever life comes next, I quickly ran to my room, put my headphones in and sobbed on the floor against my wall. I randomly decided to play my Jaymes Young station on pandora. This was the first song that played. She passed away last year in February, a few weeks before her birthday. She would've been 42. Lung cancer took her away from me. And, the reason I'm pouring my heart out rn is because I have been binge watching One Tree Hill, and this song crept up on me. And I never know what to say about these things other than I set this song on repeat for nights afterwards. It helped me cope. Idk why but I do know that tonight will be the last time this song will be repeated for me. It's beautiful, and soulful, and a painful reminder of how much I miss my mother.

Then yesterday, it played on the radio randomly while I was in the car with my boyfriend, who has his pilot's license and we'd been just talking about him taking me flying one day if I felt comfortable with it. Now whenever I hear the song it makes me tear up :)

Even though I fell in love with this song from the moment it was released, every time I hear it an overwhelming wave of pain grief and loss engulfs me. When "Big Jet Plane" was released my 6 year old daughter and I would frequently listen to the song together and thus learned the lyrics, so we used to sing this song together. At the time, I was going through a gut wrenching separation. My daughter and I had planned to spend the weekend together and so I spoke with my ex-wife in order to organise a suitable time but she immediately put an end to that and shattered all other future prospects of me and my daughter spending time together. Over the phone I could hear my baby girl crying and begging her mother to let her spend time with Daddy....but it fell on cold ears and a dead heart. I said to her, "how can you so resolutely deny your daughter who is crying and pleading with you to spend time with her father??". She bluntly replied, "she'll get over it!" This song takes me back to that part of my life....it was August 2011.

I don’t know what makes me feel more emotional, the video or the song? The video literally shows how we decide to trade our time and youth for money. It also shows how stores that used to be operated by 10-15 people in the past, now only require one person to do everything. The slow and unavoidable lack of human interaction is portrayed perfectly in this video. 10/10 👍

It’s a song we love listening to together, one that always seems to bring us closer than ever. It’s a slow, romantic tune that sets the perfect mood for a cozy evening at home. As soon as the first notes play, we instinctively reach for each other’s hands, swaying to the rhythm of the music. I feel your warmth then look into your eyes and realize your true beauty, incomparable to anyone else . No makeup, just your brilliant eyes, gorgeous smile and your flowing hair. The lyrics speak to our love for and the melody evokes memories of special moments we shared and and we cherish. It’s a song that brings us both comfort and joy, and we never tire of hearing it. Listening to this song together has become a valued tradition for me, because it’s a reminder of the deep love and connection we share and I never forget the chance it gives me to see your beauty one more time

This song reminds me of a person I longed to be with. When we first met, we never thought we could grow into anything more than just friends. Soon though, we developed a deeply caring affection for one another. I felt like I could tell him all the sadness and all the happiness that encompassed my world and he always listened and knew all the right things to say to validate what I was feeling. He was so comforting to talk to each day and when we hugged, I always melted into him. We never had the opportunity to grow into something else because the timing was painfully off. Nevertheless, I would listen to this song and create images in my head of the life I could have had with this person and our children. It brought me comfort on the days in which reality would hit me that I could not be with them the way I desired to. Ultimately, knowing that we could not have a future together made us mutually decide to move on with our lives and we abruptly stopped talking to one another. Every time I hear this song now, I feel an ache in my chest and my eyes swell up with tears knowing this person comforted by heart like no one else had but that I never had the opportunity to grow with them the way I wanted to.

This song reminds me of my impossible lover. back in high school in senior year i remember entering my maths class and then I saw her, I remember that the second I saw her I fell for her immediately, I was to shy to talk to her so i let the class pass hoping tomorrow i will see her, at the end of the day I was heading out but then I saw her again, sitting alone listening to music, I decided to not be shy again and I went to her and invented her an excuse like “i forgot what the teacher wrote, can you send it to me?” and after that we talked for 2 hours and it was like a click, an instant connection that we both felt since the beginning that will never happen with anyone else. we kept in contact, skipping classes to see each other and basically spending the whole days together. Sadly our timing was horribly awful, at the time she had a bf and i had a gf, we both felt this strong and unique connection that only happens once in a lifetime, a connection that makes you feel like you know the other person for years even tho you only know them for a few days, few days from knowing each other we both said that we needed each other, I was the person she needed and she was mine, but as i said before Gd or the life had other plans for us and the time when we met we were both unavailable and our thing was impossible. at the end we both agreed to stop talking to each other for the sake of our relationships, las thing i heard she is happily married and idk if she has forgotten about me, truth is i never have and probably never will. 13 years since this song came out, in the middle of our little adventure we listened together to this. 13 years and I will never forget you Kathia :)

The song in itself doesn’t represent my life in the slightest bit, but the clip does. I know how that girl feels, how she is stuck in a boring, monotonous, empty life, stuck in something you can’t escape, but when you do, when you can travel, even if it’s not far at all, you try to enjoy it to the maximum, because you know that you’re going back to your routine soon after that.

the girl hesitating to pick up the sprinkles is a metaphor. the sprinkles represent her creativity, or potential, and she is admiring it, or thinking about it and what it means. she’s picking through it and considering what to do with it. but she decidedly cleaning it up, because it’s a “mess” or it’s frowned upon for her “not doing her job”, or it’d be harmful towards her health, like paying for rent and food. so she just sweeps up all of it and throws it in the trash.

I was absolutely obsessed with this song and music video in high school (around 2010). The sad longing of the song paired with the video of a young woman stuck in a mundane day to day, wanting nothing more than to escape. Right after I graduated college, I struggled to find a job. I eventually accepted a retail position that brought me to the lowest lows I had experienced in a long time. My mental health was slipping day by day. This probably sounds stupid, but on the worst days at work, if there was ever a lull in customers, I would walk through the aisles and remember this video. As I restocked things, I would almost romanticize the shitty situation I was in, relating back to this music video. I know this sounds dumb and dramatic, but it helped. I knew I was dreaming of getting out even though I felt trapped and could feel myself slipping away. There were days when I would have to stifle tears so customers wouldn't see. The work environment was toxic and demanding. But remembering this video and song I loved so much helped me. Watching it now, I am so emotional, and I love it just as much as I did when I first heard it in high school.

This song helps me practice self love. To be gentle with myself. To take care of myself. And to give myself the best that I can. It reminds me that I am someone I love
