While configuring the Group policy you should create seperate OU for IT and Sales as you created the fileshare. For the current scenario Sales team also will be getting the share of IT data instead of sales data share

Unfortunately PPTP is not safe anymore, not even a little. Also you left out all the security measures. I wouldn't suggest using your domain and file server as a public VPN server at all. If there is any zero-day you're entire server is immediately compromized and so is all the data stored on it. That is why you should always use a seperate remote-access (VPN) solution preferably with 2FA.

Zero day can affect everything. Nothing is safe in zero day. FYI.. pTP is not secure but other protocols have the same impact over ZDA.

It is not! You should NEVER add an extra role to a DC. Even if you are only a small company. You can build an AD with FIleserver etc. with 3-4 VMs for relatively little money. It doesn't always have to cost 100k. This is absolutely negligent as shown in the video.
