It would be great to see the subsequent Jason King series fully restored from the camera negatives if available. Although the current release has been cleaned up somewhat and I'm glad to have it, I wouldn't be surprised if the source for it was the videotapes of the film transfers in the 1970s. In some places it is almost like Super 8mm quality never mind 16mm.

I picked up a HD version on the internet, it is fab. We find as of Nov 2022 that Network Distributing is doing the entire series in Blu Ray for just £16. Just Sixteen Pounds!, That is a bargain. Totally worth it if only for that groovy theme tune and stunning visual intro. Then of cause we have Rosemary Nicols. Who gets a perm later on, totally spoiling her 'cute' look as the Americans would say, but up until then looks such a lush. What a bird!. Very fanciable and of cause played her part well. Plus of cause we have Peter Wyngarde who is so cool & natural in this. So effortless in his acting. All in all, the Blu Ray version is the one to get, so crisp & sharp for something over 50 years old. The colours are so vibrant & rich. Of a time when colour WAS colour, similar to a technicolor effect, later on in years colour was never the same on the TV, almost a washed out and watered down look to it all. Toned down colour. Department S is still relevant, a part of British TV history. AND it is groovy!. With Jason King in it who inspired Mike Myers 'Austin Powers' Movies how could it not be. Get the Blu Ray version, Don't hang about, order it & get it right now.

Please, please, PLEASE seriously consider giving us THE NEW AVENGERS Blu-ray... If ever there was a series that deserved it...!!! I have honestly spent a small fortune on Network DVDs and you do a truly fantastic job with the remastering... to see THE NEW AVENGERS as clean and pristine as all your other remasters would be utterly splendid...!!!

Looks great but please make your classic TV Blu-ray releases available in digital download format too (Amazon Video, iTunes or even direct from your own website)

Excellent quality. Will Network finish Sweeney on Blu Ray? And would you do Special Branch series on Blu Ray? Quality of old DVD's is pretty appalling.

Like most series of that era the theme tune was by far the best bit .

Years ago a friend made me a compilation cassette of old tv and movie themes, many of which i hadn't heard of - Department S, Dangerman , Man In A Suitcase - and they all had great themes 🙂.

Come on...is anyone going to really buy this,first of all there is already a compete dvd box set and all episode are up on You Tube...i might buy it if it was a compete blue ray set
