Eustace and Preston were 2 of my favorite. Was sad indeed when Preston became sick and passed away. He was a very talented craftsman. On another note, Tom Orr is also a favorite who shows age doesn’t have to slow a person down.

He and His Brother actually Rode Horseback from East Coast to the West Coast along the Route 66 Highway. Eustace Conway is Very Smart Man who has dedicated his life for the Causes he absolutely believes in. My family are from East Tennessee Mountains, Cades Cove, Wears Vally, Townsend and Gatlinburg. You can find my family in every Cemetery in the aforementioned Places wether Cemeteries or Land Itself. They were all made to move when the U.S. Parks Services Create the Smoky Mountains National Park. Back then it was looked upon as a very Bad thing the Government did by taking our families Land and only Compensating a Small Percentage of The Mountain Property along with The Coves. But in crested the National Park is Guaranteed that The Land that they and many others own would never see the Explosion of Tourists that have Bought so many New Built Mountain Cabins and Butchering the Mountain Sides all through the Smoky Mountains outside the National Park. Even Wears Valley is so over Populated with Tourists that I hate even going there every Summer for our family reunion at Metcalfe Bottoms on Little River where Our Church Baptized every Member. My apologies for the going on, I like Eustace wants nothing more but to see our Beautiful Mountains persevered for ourGrand Children’s Children and so on.

I miss Eustace on the history channel . A real man with direction for helping people and keeping the history and values of America alive. I miss Preston also another man of great talent in his quiet teaching ways . Both real Americans with Heart and direction ,may the teachings at turtle Island always continue and help people to learn old ways and basic problem solving skills in life used in every day life.Nothing good in life is easy hard work ,and the great feeling and pride that comes with it in making a happy life for others and your self

I live in NC and always wanted to find his place and ask if I could work and live on his place for a few months. I am now 67, and would still do if he would let me. I am a hard worker, a good cook and think I could bring a lot to the table to learn from him.

I watched till the end. My condolences to his wife and sons along with his friend Preston and many more that got to Eustace. I loved to listen to all his stories about anything and everything. He really truly loved the living off the grid. Eustace was the real mountain man. He loved his land so much that he went on a long journey concerning his land on horseback. RIP you are missed deeply.

I've been watching mountain man ever since they've come out I didn't get to watch him this last season season 11 so that just told me that Eustace isn't going to be on there which I can't hardly understand because to me he is one of the true mountain Men I respect what he does how he thinks and what he stands for the way he lives is the way our country was founded I was raised where I had to draw water out of the well go to an outhouse to use the bathroom raise your own food for canning killed her own meat and hogs and cows and chickens to put in the freezer and to smoke and I watch that all the way to the end and I think the world of eustis and of the mountain men and women that are now appearing on it thank you and God bless America

(Check the tax list) Also, he has had a girlfriend, Desere, the camp manager for the last 15 years. He lives in a nice large home in Boone, that he bought for his Mother. Preston was the REAL mountain man.

The only reason i watched mountain men was to watch Eustis Conway, he is entertaining to watch , never cared for any of the others much , especially that one who flew the airplane in Alaska to trap weasels.Really enjoyed Eustis when he plowed or did things with a team of horses. and planted a garden and blacksmithing stuff.
