Growing Up Without Borders

Күн бұрын

The region of "Jura & Three-Lakes" in Switzerland is famous for its great variety of landscapes, its intact and well-protected nature and its history and rich architectural heritage, which is often related to the watch-making industry.
How can one best describe the area? It makes you think of nature, vegetable plantations, vineyards, modern towns, picturesque villages, a mixture of the German and French languages and beautiful lakes.
Snuggled up against the foothills of the Jura Mountains, the city of Neuchâtel is a great base to stay and explore the area. It's situated on the northern shore of the lake of the same name, Lac Neuchâtel, and is full of Gothic churches, castles, beautiful architecture and colorful neighborhoods.
Join us to discover the top things to see and do in the area, including where to stay, dine and partake in fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
In this video, we went on a Belle Epoque treasure hunt throughout the city, visited museums and the BirdLife nature reserve. We cycled along the lake and went for a swim at Hauterive, took a funicular to the top of Mount Chaumont for an amazing view and then zip-lined through the trees at the Chaumont Adventure Park.
Below are some helpful links to all the activities, restaurants and accommodations we visited while in the area.

Good to see that you also gave the less famous places of Switzeland not located in the Alps a go. This area with Neuchâtel and the Jura is actually the poorest region of Switzerland, not really with a big international reputation. But they seem to make special efforts to promote their attractions to tourists. Even though I'm a local, I find your discoveries inspiring. You definitely deserve more views. Take care and keep going (hope you'll make your way back here someday)!

The river near the cardinal was a big one before! It's called '' Seyon'' and now this street is named ''rue du Seyon'' because of the river. But it has been diverted since ~1900. Now there is still this small one to remind of the old one. Thank you for this video that shows our city in its best light!

Fantastic to see my place through your eyes! My only critique would be that you've stayed only very close to Neuchâtel, while the Canton has much more to offer, in the hills north beyond Chaumont... but it's a reason for you to come back!

This place looks fantastic. The food, there "bee chateau" I just love it. Also going to look at Pier One and Ole World Market for the Swiss Mayo. I just have to try it. (if I can find it, ha) Also when the name of where you are at comes on to the screen. I try to pronounce it. Then you say it and I am so far off. Your pronunciation is so nice. I hope I get better. I just love the breakfast basket. Thanks for all the nice videos.

Oh, wonderful! Your attitudes have changed soooooo much from how you were in the African countries. I can easily understand why, and it's not just 'cause you came home, of course you're glad to be home but Africa was even stressful to watch you navigate your way around. Go!. have fun.............Dave from MN

Years ago, someone said that it is wise to eat before you go grocery/food shopping- so that you aren't tempted to buy everything that looks good & spend too much money. It is also wise to eat before watching a GUWB video, so that you don't get hunger pangs looking at the good food you guys eat.

One thing that I love about nature is not watch birds, I love to watch trees, they kind of look like people. Their shapes, if you use your imagination, makes you feel like they are posing for you. Some them looking like are they are valet dancers and some look like they actually alive. I suggest you to look more the trees and you’ll see what I am trying to say...good luck!
