What I found out with the Scarlett Solo Interface is that keeping it at the lowest input (with instrument switch engaged) has the best signal to noise ratio. So that boost you dial in with the gain knob I just do with a gain and/or limiter in the DAW after going in. Doesn't matter that it's like 8db or more, it works the best for me.

Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, that's also a common method. However with my old Scarlett 6i6 2nd gen my method works better for me but with my 3rd gen Scarlett Solo, the difference is much smaller and I also leave the gain almost at zero on the Interface. I also think the difference is much bigger between cheap and high end Interfaces.

Wow those tones are amazing! I've been using a few NDSP plugins including Nolly X which is my main one to go, i've always had sound issues in my setup and got many things fixed/adjusted but never could have a clean sound. Came across this video and i feel like i'm listening to something else than my whole experience with the plugin. How is this even possible? Whether i use my Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen turned all the way down or simply at a good position without clipping (which is around 9 o'clock for me), things never sound like this. It's all fizzy, i've never seen the 2nd amp that clean and pristine. I've been thinking that maybe my interface is bad but you're also using a Focusrite. I'm incredibly confused on how my tones sound bad after watching this 'cuz mine are very noisy and loud! i'm even thinking of changing my instrument cable at this point 😭 Sorry for crying out loud here in comments lol, i'm just stressed out trying to figure what's wrong with my setup. I hope i can get good tones as yours because they're really good. Awesome video! :)

Hi, at first thanks for watching and the kind words ! 🙌 Maybe check your guitar, the pickups, the electronic first, than the cable etc. You Interface should be fine, its a good one ! I think its the best update from the x series, and thank you for these almost 30 minutes of video, I have enjoyed it a lot and I have learned to achieve better tones thanks to you.
